Root [ROM][UNOFFICIAL][4.4.4] DeCAF Cyanogenmod 11, Release 1

Still unable to charge while the power is off. Doing so causes the phone to boot up with no touch sensitivity, which means i have to battery pull
 
This rom is excellent but what keeps.me from keeping this. Is the fact that bluetooth sucks badly. Youtube video play in 360p the most. And I can't record videos period. Everything else works. Idk about LTE but i hope these things get fixed in the next update

I messed around with some things trying to get bluetooth sound and normal sounds working better, please tell me if anything changed. I dont have any bluetooth devices besides the phone itself so i cant test any of that.

Youtube in 360p is known issue, and with such a low density screen its not a shocker. Even on stock i barely get the option for 480p videos half the time. Itll be fixed, and I know a whole lot of people think differently than I do on the situation, but I cant see a difference between 360p and 480p. From 480p to 1080p? Oh god yes, huge difference.

You can use a 3rd party camera/camcorder app from the play store like Camu to replace the stock camera app that only half works. I tested Camu and it took pictures and videos no problem.

Also, SMS/MMS is borked in all these builds, im still trying to figure out what Bad_MOFO_33 and the LG Tribute guys did to get it working in cm12. Its something ive been fighting with since day one of building these roms. For now, i'd recommend something like 8sms from the play store to get the job done, i tested it with sending and receiving sms/mms and had no problems.

All you you, feel free to jump in on development if you see something you want fixed. It takes a lot of time for one person to track all these bugs down, but takes way less time if there are multiple people applying fixes to the problem. If we had more people willing to be devs and take the time we do, all of these roms would be 100% right now.

On another note, beta 4 is up in the op. I fixed sensors (rotation and compass,) cleaned up a lot of the device and vendor trees, added qcom bsp (probably going to remove it since it doesnt do much for noncaf builds,) fixed backlight brightness adjustment (dunno how that slipped by, fixed now anyways,) messed around in the overlay on some small insignificant stuff that most of you wont notice, and worked on sound a little bit. Oh yeah, and netflix works, so does casting to chromecast from netflix and youtube.

As always, up to date device and vendor repos are in the 2nd post. I need someone to test and tell me if sound issues got any better, and also if lte works fine.

Sensors seem to work I haven't test out any thing else but Bluetooth use the same. I have Bluetooth headphones that's the only reason of me complaining. I like this ROM alot. But this a big thumbs down for me is it possible to get the Bluetooth audio files from the decaf?

Do you have stable LTE on other Roms? If your LTE is flaky otherwise, this wont fix it.

If your LTE is stable on stock and cm12, flash the APN fix for your carrier and then lemme know if LTE works or not. I need to know because I might have to revert some code in the ril and have you test. (That's only if you have solid LTE on stock, candy and cm12 for that situation to happen.)
 
I've had LTE on other ROM's, stock, omni, cm12. Since you mentioned it, I downloaded the boost mobile APN fix, zip file, but it never works for me when I flash it in recovery.

I don't have another link to give you for the boost APN fix, but I can tell you that you need the apns conf file inside that zip to get LTE.

You can extract that file from the zip and use adb push to /system/etc/ to put it in place. Then reboot. And after, go into the apn selection menu under mobile data and hit menu, restore defaults. That will make cm11 read the new apns conf XML file and hopefully get you LTE.
 
I have the zip file on my SD card. I've never used adb, I don't know anything about it. Could I just unzip the file on my phone and use file browser to move it?
 
This works... But 8SMS needs to be downloaded and configured to send SMS/mms

BTW that's without Boost/Virgin APN Fix being flashed.
the boost APN in the list works fine.. But only with 3g
 
Am I correct in thinking trebuchet is cm specific? I would love to see more features added some day. Like the ability to hide app icons that are unused
 
Besides LTE and haven't tested MMS, everything seems to be working for me so far. Also haven't tested video recording, and likely never will
 
Got lte working! Flashed the universal boost fix, then Google'd the boost MMS settings and manually set them, and now I'm good to go!



Edit: update, lte works, but it is causing funny issues. And not the haha funny, the Janine Garofalo funny (badum-cha)

At first Pandora was working just fine. Internet otherwise works fine. Then Pandora broke for some reason. I couldn't figure it out for the longest time, finally switched to 3G and it immediately worked. Also I immediately got all of my recently sent texts returned saying couldn't send. I was wondering why they hadn't replied for a few hours now... But browser was working, play store was working, this app was working
