Well it boots and the major issues I've found is that it appears to be a GSM rom... All the apns are Att, there's no VM apn and there's no voice or cdma connectivity. Camera causes a shutdown reboot. Can't find developers options/USB debugging...
To get to the developers options you have to go to Settings > About and then tap the build number a few times.
Also a quick Google results in this, but I am not entirely sure of their accuracy. Upon trying to add them through the Settings > (Wireless & Networks) More > Mobile Network > APNs, nothing happened. I tried using the File Explorer to open /etc/apns-conf.xml, but that resulted in a restart of the phone. Extracting the CM11 ROM flashable zip and opening system/etc/apns-conf.xml on the computer has a large list of carriers, and the first one is the Virgin Mobile US, but in the APN menu only ATT and StraightTalk ones are showing.

I knew there were issues, but I could not remember what they were. This is where I, and others, think it's actually a kernel issue, not a recovery issue. Different phones work better than others using the same recovery. On my phone, I have only experienced format issues when trying to do cm11 related stuff, and that generally is a kernel issue fix, but the cache issue I do get more often than not. I don't know what needs to be done to fix that, but overall I'd say it's more of a kernel issue than of a recovery issue. But like you said, it's what phenom deems more important. It's not like I'm much more than a beginner here, I just have a decent history in programming so it's easy for me to work with new languages easier.
