Root [ROM] Unofficial CM9 (ICS) nightly builds

That's the blog for the CyanogenMod website.

The fixes have been merged (Steve Kondike on Mar 15): Gerrit Code Review

Any nightly from last night forward should have those changes unless it's a custom rom and they choose to exclude them.

The change might not be a big deal like maybe just open a terminal app after every nightly update, but still ticks me off. :D

EDIT: sorry, I think you meant the Twitter quotes.

I'm gonna have to follow them on twitter :-D

I'm not too keen on the changes myself. I get the reason why, and I can see why they would say its preferable, but I can't say from my own standpoint that it pleases me.

It doesn't effect much more than some things taking a extra step or two, but can be a little frustrating I'd think.

im fine with the changes, since all it is a setting that you have to enable one time. its not like its in involved process to enable root access or we have to figure out how to root our custom software :D

with all the hype over security lately i completely understand the reasoning for it,and i think its great that they want to be taken seriously as an alternative to oem software.

i just cant wait till they get everything up and running so we can have official nightlys :D

So I'm thinking about taking the ICS plunge, any real difference between eyeballer and SamIam builds?

Not a huge difference, no. As far as I know the only difference is that eyeballers has opengl support and samians does not. I haven't really followed things in this last week as I've been busy, but samiam may have opengl in the newest builds.

That being said I have found the builds lacking opengl to be more stable thus far. Its just not ready yet.

Any one see/try the new kernel from fattire? [DEV] CM9/ICS Work-In-Progress - Page 215 - xda-developers

It say's it's supposed to end up in the repo after 24 hours (or, I assume, after bugs are removed). :D

I'm going to update my wife's NC (currently CM7.2 RC1) this week so was researching it a bit.

Hey gang. Whilst we wait for TI's 3.x OMAP3 kernel (for encore), here's some 2.6.32.59 luv from keyodi to tide ya over:http://kan.gd/1ja1

Just installed the latest nightly on my wife's NC (0409), and it does not contain this kernel.

I agree.

Too bad AOKP isn't available for the NC. It's like ICS on steroids. :D

I flashed Phiremod's 7.2 now. Installed Go Launcher and Go Locker. Put an ICS theme on it plus I have netflix, hulu (regular, not plus) working on it. It's a workaround until ICS has video. However, Phiremod's ROM is also a good one.
