Root [ROM] Virgin Mobile Revamp [05.15.2013]

hey guys. ive got a couple of noob questions. first. ive been having a ton of fc and launcher issues with the latest version of miuin any such probs with this rom? alsowhats the best app to backup apps with prior to install?

Hey G60- just want to say thanks for making revaMped.

For too long we've been fixing our phone 'til it's broke. In stock form, battery life was horrible! That's why I and probably others went looking for alternatives (plus it's fun, a challenge, it's new, [insert your reason here])

I was happy to experiment with the latest and greatest. I'm very happy with this, a camera that works like it should, battery life way better than stock, hdmi out ( used it 2x, Ever, but I can again) Holo launcher, life is good. Thanks to you and BSydz- I'm donating.

G60 you da man as far as the triumph goes but embracing this piece of crap that virgin sold all of us is no good. The truth of the matter is FROYO SUCKS. So I appreciate you making any roms for this phone but PLEASE don't make any more stock roms cause they f'n suck ass. Thank You for all your hard work.

I really appreciate this ROM and BSydz's U9000 and Sharp ROMs. They suit my needs well. I want a working camera, a fast GPS and a working HDMI. I also want a stable ROM without random reboots, etc. So I'm really thankful for this ROM.

I have a question. How did you get the status bar black in this rom? Did you recolor yourself or is there a system thing installed? Ive wanted to do this in froyo roms myself but never could find out how.

Didn't do anything yet in terms of color just the back ground.

I have used this rom for two days now and the battery life is great.
Did i mention it was my new daily? cause it it....(

I have used for the first time the gps on this rom and my location was picked up instantly...no problems whatsoever!

Feels like a gingerbread, everything works, plus amazing battery, gps and hdmi work flawlessly. The only rom i will ever need. Wish i had this rom a year ago...its that good.

Seems like people are really liking this ROM, how does it compare to the MTDEV-CM7? I like CM7, but battery life, stability, and GPS are all a big deal to me and this Revamp ROM seems like it might be better on those.

Can anyone that came from MTDEV-CM7 compare and contrast?

So far it is. I really enjoy this rom coming from MTDEV CM7. The GPS works a lot better, doesnt feel in terms of looks any different, and its very snappy. I havent really used it enough yet to tell you about the battery life but so far its been pretty good.

I run the current (03-03-13?) CM7 on my phone only because I wanted to see if it has improved in the last few months. I had been running Revamp and have that still installed on the wife's phone. I can say that battery life is way better on Revamp - both phones come off the charger at 8am and mine is anywhere from 20-50% by 5pm and the wife's phone is still at 70% at 11pm. When I ran Revamp, I was still 60%+ by 11pm.

I can't comment on the GPS performance.

For stability, they both seem fairly stable after a few days. I think the built-in e-mail client is a little less stable on the Revamp, it force closes for me frequently on Froyo ROMs (U9000, Revamp, stock) but rarely on CM7.

If you want my opinion, go with Revamp. I'll probably be switching back to it shortly, just because of the battery life.

Any way to get a build.prop file or maybe the next release that reports the phone as "Triumph" instead of MOTWX435KT? Got some apps that say they are compatible with a Triumph device (my CM7 is this) but not my Revamp phone that says MOTWX435KT.

I am having trouble with the Post Install. I got stuck with the Step

∙ Add this line: "##########", without the main qoutes, where ########## is your 10 digit phone number, right above the vm_id_key property
I hit enter to get the extra line above vm_id_key then I put my 10 digit # in then I Saved and exit.
Then I tried doing this next step
∙ Delete com.android.phone_preferences.xml.bak

But I could not find were this file was that I had to delete. Can anybody Help me?

I also have a couple other questions,

When I am using my 3G why does it show my 3G then next to that it shows a 3G and 1x symbol?
Another question is it possible to make the background in the messaging app black and the text white?
Then my last question is there a way to change the carrier name on the lock screen and the notification bar?

The .bak file is created by the editor in ES file explorer when you edit and save a file. Just so you have a backup of the original... Just in case.

If you used something else to edit the file, it may or may not have created one. Don't worry about it if it isn't there. If you DID use ES file explorer, you may have to hit Menu -> More -> Refresh to refresh the view so you can see it.

No clue about your data icons.

You should be able to download and install a blacked out messaging app. Alternatively you could study up on themeing and mod it yourself.

Provider name can be changed via the process I linked you to in your prior post.
