No it doesn't. Miui themes can change framework, sms, wallpapers, icons, lockscreen wallpapers, boot animation, boot sound and fonts. Launcher pro doesn't prevent any of these from being changed. You don't need to select it every time if you change it to use launcher pro as the default launcher. And how often do you reboot your phone? I certainly value an app drawer which I use throughout the day (if that's what you like as I do) more than having to press one button on reboot. What other "improvements Miui offers" does it restrict?

For starters, the fact that you can add as many screens to your home screen as you want. LP only has 7 I believe? With all my widgets, I quickly got to more than 7 (mostly full page ones like news feed).

But yes, LP replaces the launcher in MIUI and also alters the theme so i doubt the theme would still properly work if you use LP.

The themes still work. Didn't realise about the homescreens, I only use 2/3 anyway

-battery % within the battery icon in the notification bar?
-notification bar power widget?

Not as default but a flashable zip is available that will add it in easily.
