Root [ROM][WIP] CyanogenMod 7 | Android 2.3.5 | Last Version: CM7-Triumph-09182011 (discontinued)

i was running psx4droid with digimon world 3 running and yes i do have 66 apps installed. all in all that is still impressive it barely lags.

(update) with psx4droid and all apps turned off i got 1692. still impressive.

Yeah stock I was hitting 1650-1750 and that was with a decent amount of apps installed, now I am hitting about 2350ish everytime on tickerguys alpha build with no oc. Stock speeds. So about a 43% performance increase, that is damn impressive.

Hello

I have put tickerguys new version and thank you very much for the work. I wanted to update my PRL via QPST but I cannot create the shortcut via Anycut to the Com Port selection from Mass Storage to DIAG. Does anyone know how to do this with CM7 on the MT

Thanks
MTSR

Just so I'm clear... is the rom on the original post the must current version i.e. with the audio fix?

I can't build "properly" until the repos come back up. I just built off of what I had and my stuff was 3 weeks old. Android.git.kernel.org is down I'm guessing to the recent hacking of kernel.org (for sercurity purposes I guess). When it comes back up, I'll update my build.

Can we add to the first page (maybe a reserved post) a section for status updates. Just give a bolded date and a short description. Maybe a list of things still not working. That would help out a lot.

Also, I don't want to sound unappreciative. I'm excited about this effort and am very thankful to Issac and the others hard work.

Found the solution
change the product_id in file /sys/module/android/parameters/product_id from C001 to C000

and also do:
echo 1 > /sys/devices/virtual/usb_composite/diag/enable

To turn off
echo 0 > /sys/devices/virtual/usb_composite/diag/enable

change the product_id in file /sys/module/android/parameters/product_id from C000 to C001

You need to either grab all the "Google*" apps from the base Triumph load in /system/app and push them along with Vending.apk or use my CM7 update (which includes them.)

hey tickerguy !! r u one guy or a group :P .. wow u have really put a lot of hard work with a perfect start from issac87 and support from other guys. This was a different experience in reading the whole thread from beginning..what was best is ur updates every now and then that shows u r really good in documenting things :) ok lets come to the point i am here to ask a doubt which might sound stupid... :) ..

May i know if i flash the CM7 on my SPICE CSL MI 410 if it works ? or i mean atlesast i get the gui ? what if we swap the kernel / boot imgs thanks.

and guys any help to get this..i badly needed those noticification widget controlls which is really really useful.

Do not even CONSIDER flashing this on a phone that's not this device. You may brick it irrevocably. It's unlikely, but possible.

In particular there are firmware files downloaded to the Wifi chip on boot. If your chipset is different enough that this scambles something in the chip's NV, you're dead.

that was really a strong warning :) thanks .. i was hoping since both phones are rebranded foxconn FB0 products with almost similar specs it would work . but a detailed search made me understand the chip used are different (or may be i am wrong) one is CDMA other one (mine ) is GSM
so now question is .. is there a way to get the gui look with notification bar widgets ?

Tickerguy moved development to that thread. This thread is currently dead. Can somebody lock this?

Both isaac and tickerguy are working together and separately (on their own forks), afaik. If isaac wants his thread closed, he will probably ask for it to be closed. I assume he'll provide something if/when he's ready and when he gets around to it. I'm sure school is taking up his time anyway (and who can blame him for focusing on what's important?)

Isaac and I are working together on issues (and both of our repos are on github) but we're not building a "unified port"; among other things I may want things configured a bit differently than he does and vice-versa.

He's busy with school but is definitely continuing to develop on the device; we've traded code snippets and ideas several times in the last couple of days.

Thanks for the heads-up tickerguy! :) do you know any custom rom that will work perfectly with Cherry Magnum?

i lost the root when i upgraded my phone from froyo to gingerbread and now having problem on how to gain super user mode again. cherry magnum wont accept the latest version of CWM.

Anyone from this room can suggest apps or tools i can use to root this gingerbread?

Custom ROM and CWM recommendation?

Phone info:
model: cherry-magnumHD
android version: 2.3.4
kernel: Apps_2.6.32.9-perf
build#: 5019_3_18D

Your help will be very much appreciated. Thanks:)

You should see if there's anyone interested in porting CM7 to the GSM version(s) of these variants. The Triumph device configs have reached a point where they are quite unique to the phone, but they are still very much so applicable to the other variants.

Someone with the GSM variant will need to make the proper changes to get it working correctly for the Magnum (RIL, MMS, and keymapping come to mind). However, most of the related hardware (WIFI, camera, sound, bluetooth, etc.) shouldn't need extra work.

hey issac... what works/doesnt work in the alpha version? i did look at your work/broke list and they havent changed. (unless i wasnt paying attention)

P.S.- i really like the live wallpaper you made!!!!! :D

New build is up. Has a new launcher that is much faster and allows you to uninstall apps by dropping them into the trashcan (deletezone). Also, I added the Nexus S LWP.

I also added OC'ing up to 1.9 GHz. You can adjust those settings via "Cyanogenmod Settings." Make sure to check "set on boot" to make sure the CPU freq sticks. We also now use ext4. Also, auto-brightness works, but it isn't turned on by default.

EDIT: BTW, the new recovery and a full wipe are REQUIRED.
