Root [ROM][WIP] CyanogenMod 7 | Android 2.3.5 | Last Version: CM7-Triumph-09182011 (discontinued)

Hey isacc if i copy the system folder from the gingerbread update and put it in your rom will the wifi work. Well i really want the apps and widgets from the gingerbread update. And do you know which file is keeping the gingerbread update GSM instead of CDMA.

It doesn't quite work that way. You can probably get away with using apps from the GB update, but I believe the libs are built differently. I won't know for sure what they've done until I get the source packages.

EDIT: You could try the WIFI. You'll need libhardware_legacy.so, libnetutils.so, libwpa_client.so, libcutils.so, libbinder.so, libutils.so

Okay got them. Do you want me to get those from the gingerbread rom and put them in urs?

I'm a newbie that stuff what do i those? Do you want me to get those from the gingerbread rom and put them in urs?

No, that's a pretty nasty thing to do CM7-wise. More likely than not, it'll probably stop CM7 from booting. If I ever have hopes of getting the Triumph officially supported in CM, I don't think including prebuilt libs would improve my chances. The fix I pushed last night should essentially be what you're trying to do.

If you'd like to try it you'll have to use ADB.

How do i get what you fixed last night?

If custom ROMs can repair the reception and GPS, that would be fantastic news. Hopefully BB/Target will still sale promotions then :)

Based on issac's experience, apparently the screen flicker is a software problem since his phone had the issue with stock but not with CM7. This lends hope that the faults with the device are software based.

Just wait patiently for Isaac's next release.

Stop bugging our only developer!

I wasnt bugging him we was talking the Gingerbread from the .nbo and he told me to get some .so and i asked him what to do with them after i get them and he said "nevermind what you are talking about i fixed it last night" so i thought he had uploaded a new one or something

Turn off signature verification and asserts. If that doesn't work look at the log and see what's the real reason it won't flash.

hmmm well i tried downloading a different zip and that seemed to flash correctly...but when i rebooted..still the same stock animation. I tried flashing your cm7 and the boot animation changed to the cm7 boot animation. Its as if it only changes when you flash a whole rom. weird

Ah this stuff is so much fun, I just butchered my Gf's intercept two days ago flashing roms, it worked well for about three days then went haywire for no apparent reason... Just went back to the nandroid...

Back on topic though I can't wait for this to fully work and I'm so stoked it took off so soon cause I would love to flash this once it has working wifi... I may have missed it but do outgoing and incoming calls work yet?

Isaac you kick ace man:D

Edit: nevermind I see now that calls aren't working

I've never rooted, modded or did any type of modification to a phone. The closest I ever got to doing anything like that is when I couldn't wait to receive the 2.2 update to the intercept and manually did it from a zip file online. I'm super stoked on the development of Gingerbread on here. Go Isaac GO!! You got a supporter here in Chicago! Much appreciated the hard work you are doing! :):):)

I can confirm wifi is working and the keymapping is correct now. However, I wasn't able to get the GPS to lock onto any satellites.
Also, in case anyone is wondering- I got a 2430 quadrant benchmark score using cm7 :)

Thank you... that is impressive

Just wait til we get that kernel source and crank our speed up to 1.4 or 1.5 GHz. :)

Out of curiosity, I ran a benchmark on the stock ROM and pulled about 1730. So, 2430 is an impressive increase.

I think we should open a discussion thread with isaac people love asking you questions and just talking to you. :P I have a few myself and don't want to cloud this thread, although I already may have.

New preview build will be coming today. It'll have WIFI fixed and hopefully audio.

EDIT:

@rockneo:

Come join us in IRC (irc.freenode.net | #triumphmod). I spend a lot of time in there.

Stock just produced a Quadrant of 1898 for me, 2428 for the alpha CM7.1!

Great to hear WiFi is on the way

Alrighty, wifi, bluetooth and GPS, are working. I'll have to test them further to make sure. But wifi is definitely working.

How is the GPS under CM7 compared to the stock ROM? I'm really interested to see what problems are hardware based and which aren't.

I dunno, I have another junker phone. GPS wouldn't even work for me on the stock ROM. I checked the logs and there weren't any errors. This was in both the stock ROM and CM7.

I'll put a new build up when I can. I was hoping to get audio fixed, but I'm having difficult with the build. To make things worse, my Triumph has a problem turning on. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Plus, there are other issues with it. I'm gonna have to exchange it again.

EDIT: wsimon has successfully built CM7 with the wifi fix. You guys can probably get it from him if you don't want to wait.

Well I hope you don't give up on the triumph as you are the MAN! This whole community is in debt to you for getting as far as you have so quickly.:o
