Root [ROM][WIP] CyanogenMod 7 for the LG Esteem MS910

I assume this is the same thing you guys are getting?

"Dear Anniedroid

Thank you for your interest about our mobile phone.

So PG i gotta ask...

Is it easier to get CM7 working in stable condition and then work on CM9? or does it make no difference and its all a pain in the ass? haha
CM7 is easier, main thing with it is getting RIL working. Once its working calls, txt, etc will work n then its getting the camera n 4glte working. With CM9 its move involved getting it to work 'right'. Now if I can find how others are getting some of the GB stuff to work it will help out too.

Shouldnt make any one easier doing one before the other due to completely different coding methods

Actually cm7 is easier as its GB n nothing technically needs done to the kernel to get anything to work. Basically config it, add the need proprietary files n compile. And in our case getting ril working, which isn't all that hard, I just haven't had time to do anything with it lately.

With cm9 alot of kernel work has to be done and/or alot of work arounds done to get stuff working.

I have an OG Droid with a pre-alpha CM9 buld i think that they are using on the DroidX. I actually did notice that it wouldnt let me flash the kernel i was using for CM7 over the kernel that is dropped with CM9...

Maybe we could guiltrip LG into ics for the esteem like they did for the Lg Optimus line? From what i hear, all other carriers that had OM got GB, but metro didnt.

The one for the DX is beta n works fairly well for having a locked bl n stock GB kernel. Those type work arounds are the ones i'd like to know just to get a usable release out n give us more time to work on the kernel n hw changes. I compiled a new build of cm9 with the new I s adreno drivers yesterday but adb wasn't playing on my esteem so I didn't get to test it yet.

Yes i understand, i thought tye initial questiin was if CM7 was done first would it make CM9 any easier to port but all i was saying was that itbrealky woukdnt because of different coding methods used in Androids 4

Oh so they continued a bit further with the build for DX huh? They stopped working on the OG CM9..bastards

PM me your builds and let me know the issues with them and we can see what happens. I only say this because i seem to have one of the unique Esteems that handle things differently than others.
