Root [ROM][WIP] Party Time JB

Hey superboy4444

I tried inboxing you but it's full at the moment

I want to know if you could help me out, I have a friend that is edit the secsetting.apk, and he is having problems with recompiling it.

Do you know what he may be doing wrong? He says all of the edits were successful, but it won't recompile.

So are MMS and GPS issues resolved?
Sounds like Wiping Cache(s) is what determines the outcome?
Or is it a 50/50 shot depending on unique hardware?

Either way, still looks like the most promising JB based ROM available at the moment.
So THANKS Superboy4444

Anyone tried this Kernel with this ROM yet?
[KERNEL] MiRaGe - optimized SPH-M950 (icon) kernel for stock JB ROM - 09082013

I am running stock ics with a custom kernel and removed all the bloatware and it is better than the JB roms here. Mostly becauee mms and gps work flawlessly.

ICS used to be better, but not since the new Mirage kernel. JB is snappy snappy snappy now.
I never had issues with mms or gps with JB anyway.

I might switch to jb for a moment and try it out again. I am on ics because even on sock JB mms and gps wouldn't work for me :C has a workaround been discovered for that? Been a long minute since i have visited the forums.

Yah, read through the top few threads, there's been tons of progress in the last few days!
Not sure about the GPS and mms issues, I never had them. My girlfriend uses her gps about 8 hours a day, and she's got no complaints either.

Duuuuude!! Hatin' ain't my style...No way, shape of form do I consider you a noob! If I could do a QUARTER of some of the things that you done/did with this, or ANY phone, I'd be ecstatic!! ;)
I'd be usin' 2.5, 'cept for the PIX thing...can't get MMS to work; so I flashed back to 2.4

If you really did think I came across that way; my SINCERE APOLOGIES, SB, it wasn't my intention.

EDIT: Aaahhhh-ha! it's early, and I'm not fully awake, and I see where SB thought WHAT he thought...Yeah, bro the 'noob' ref. IS me, LOL!

hahaha...sorry bro...i was tired too when that happened!

I'm currently using your Party Time JellyBeanSandwich 2.4 and freeking love it, but I'd love to use Party Time JellyBean instead cause I like the UI and status bar more in JellyBean than I do in Sandwich. The only reason I don't is because I have to reactivate my phone every now and then and never have the activate icon. I noticed that in your JellyBeanSandwich it's there but not in your JellyBean ROM. I was wondering if you could provide an update to it with a working activate option like in JBS?

Why do you have to reactivate so often? I activated once, like a year ago, and never had to do it again regardless of what I flashed on my phone.

Honestly I don't know. I'm sort of a trial and error type guy and when I flash something I just mess around with things because I really like to completely customize every aspect of my phone, but not really understanding term's or what I'm doing half the time I just learn from my mistakes. Usually when I flash a custom ROM I end up not receiving messages, not having data and not being able to call. I went through this before with my Motorola Triumph and my HTC One V they both basically required me to reactivate my phone ever so often for what ever reason, and battery pull's counting to 20 seconds just didn't help me any. :/ So that little activate app has become one of my strangest friends/ security blanket.

Right on, just curious ! :-)

You don't need the activate app! If you run into that problem all you have to do is go to the phone and dial ##virgin# and a menu will come up that includes activation...but when I do get the next update out I'll be sure to include it
