Root [Rom] X10 Eminence [For xRecovery]

v1.2 Change Log:

Not changed a great deal really, modified for the new update, changed the button press, new animations, JIT enabled, removed the recovery menu. I've not made the background so dark so it stands out a bit more and changed the bootscreen, also cleaned up the dialler buttons.

Im downloading now, will say how the new updates look. i like the looking of dock icons.

Serious, the animations is so nice, me like it. I like how the phone unlocks. And u made it nice to let it have several transitions.
I had problems with the Market, but never mind i have fixed it.

Is anyone else having problems installing xRecovery?

I have a rooted x10i with 1.6, BB 1.1.28, Kernel 2.6.29-rel, R2BA024. Busybox installed from the market.

Im trying the install xRecovery-0.2-release.apk by clicking it from the root of the sdcard. It says xRecovery Installer could not be installed on this phone. So I tried the manual method:

- Download the apk, rename it to xRecovery-0.2-release.ZIP
- Unpack the file, find ./res/raw folder inside. It should contain 3 files (chargemon, busybox, xrecovery.tar)
- copy these 3 files into /system/bin using root explorer (remember to remount /system rw

Any help would be much appreciated.

Glad you like it. I find LP to be a much better home launcher than ADW or others, so much so I upgraded to LP+ and it's worth every penny.

yeah i agree - purchased the unlock code a few days ago when i decided to give eminence a shot - have noticed its much quicker to scroll through etc

X10iuser, thank goodness for xRecovery, I have tried the battery ring mod a couple of times and can not get it to work . I'm OK modding the framework-res apk and sending back to phone so I'm guessing that I need to change the status bar to accept the battery ring icon or the icon and XML files I'm using are not compatible with the phone. can you up load the modded files or point me in the right direction. sorry to be a pain.

My only negative is the bootscreen; in comparison to the rest of the X10 Res Mod brilliance, the bootscreen is a bit tacky and isn't of good quality.

Apart from that I'm loving it!

Love the update job , as always really well done, don't really like the bootscreen....looks cheap....but it's not a big deal.

remember when I asked you if it's normal that the phone stays always on if under charge?!? well you replied that it shouldn't happen if the phone is completely off before plugging it in.........I tried it in all the possible ways and it keeps turning on... am I the only one?!?

Checking MD5 sums
MD5 mismatch

Then just stops, then kicks me back to the main xRecovery menu.

Any ideas?

You are free to use 99.9% for whatever you wish, HOWEVER, I created the lockscreen, I've used it in my themes, now this, and it's a feature, a signature if you like, of my work, which I don't wish to see used in other themes/ROMS, ESPECIALLY which are for the X10, and I don't think that's an unfair request, PLUS, if you are going to create something for the community, try and put your own stamp on it.

If you get a md5 "mismatch" error, smartgardens has posted a solution HERE. Or some have said renaming the folder, for example, "Eminence v1.2" to Eminence_v1.2" works also.

I don't think you can. I did the same last week. You need to completely reflash your device from scratch. I used XDA forum for advice on this by digging around.

No listen that update you did made it so you CAN NOT ROOT THE PHONE.
The only way to root your phone is to flash it back to another 2.1 firmware.
This is my guide on how to flash the xperia if you choose to do so PLEASE READ EVERYTHING.
Just make sure when you choose a firmware in flash tool its a 2.1.

For those that haven't seen my post at XDA, I'm putting Eminence to bed. I've enjoyed making it as I've improved on some skills, but it's either continue with this or Res Mods, and I've chosen Res Mods.

So thanks to those that downloaded this, but I won't be continuing with the project.

Not really, just means you're not fully up to date.

I have rooted both htc desire and hero and my x10i 1.6 quite easily. Having a nightmare rooting it from the factory 2.1. Tried various tools, universal androot, superoneclick and z4root.

Can anyone help.

for some reason even though I see and use the market Application, when I go to the Application list in settings it not there, so therefore I cannot uninstall any updates to get the new market ui. any help would be great.

Having a nightmare rooting it from the factory 2.1. Tried various tools, universal androot, superoneclick and z4root.

None of the root methods work with the new update, so you need to flash back to 504 using the flashtools, root, xRecovery, install Zdzihu's Pre-Rooted .24 ROM, then install this.

did anyone work out a fix for this?

Go to Manage Applications, then press the menu button, Filter, All, and you will see all your installed apps.
