Root [ROM] ZV4 updated stock ROM

yjudaseb.jpg

As you guys can see, I'm not gonna stay up another 2 1/2 hours just to show this. But I used to get around 12 hours of usage, I'm now getting around 13-14. (With heavy use)
But this is only day one, let's see how this goes after a few more uses.

Hey guys! I hope I don't sound too ignorant but I was wondering if there would be some way that someone could post a tutorial or instructions on how to use fastboot and how to flash this? I have v3 right now and I really want to keep my root but updating to v4 with root would also be nice! Thanks!
I'm stuck as well, i backed up my. Laf partition and nuked it and can boot into fastboot on my android and i thought i had adb and fastboot setup correctly on my win 7 pc but now a. I am unsure where to put both cwma1.img on my phone and also i am unsure of where to place the v4 update so it can be found. I stayed up until 2 am and when i enter fastboot devices to see if my phone is recognized the shell lists out a series of maybe 10 or 12 numbers with a space and then fastboot... If i try to boot the cwma1.img using the command given, the output says device not found. My phone is really messed up so i am trying to decide if i want to break the phone, pc or both today lol :D

I tried uploading a mirror while I slept but it failed. I'll try again. As for where to put cwma1.img, I think in windows your default folder would be your user folder, you can put it in there or you can change directory (CD) into wherever it's located, ie, a download folder. The zip goes in the root of your SD card.

Can you take a screen shot of this? Are you using fastboot from the adk? Or are you using easy adb?

Im using the minimal adb and fastboot on my laptop but i have the version from the adk on my desktop, my wife was sleeping last night so i had to use the laptop. How can i take a screenshot of the fastboot on my phone? I boot into it using the method yet but i have no figured out a way to enter any commands in that mode yet if i tried to take a screenshot I would have to hit the power button and that would reboot my phone.. I used terminal emulator from inside android to enter the commands you suggested, the output from the second command said i didn't have enough space on my phone but i still have plenty

I meant a screenshot of your desktop after entering the fastboot commands.
This may be noob question but do i have adb shell on my pc running at the same time as my android running fastboot? Or do i run the command to boot into cwm from my pc first using fastboot boot cwma1.img and then my phone will boot into cwm from there? I have a brain injury so im kind of confused sometimes. Thank you for your help, i know i can get this right

If your on v4 without root...how are you suppose to give terminal emulator superuser permission?

I thought these commands were entered via PC and adb?

You can't, you'll have to downgrade with DL mode first before you can upgrade/flash this.

Your phone has to be in fastboot mode, it'll be a black screen with a bunch of white lines of text. Fastboot is a tool you use from your PC, you open it up from cmd not adb shell. I can possibly remotely connect to your PC with team viewer and show you how to do it.

So I'm on V3 can I do this via emulator than do I have to have a PC or can I use any other way of flashing this zip you put together? I'm limited when it comes to using a computer! Please & thanx ahead of time!

You HAVE to have a PC. You DON'T use adb, you use fastboot. You put your phone into fastboot mode and run the fastboot commands on your PC.

The second mirror isn't working. :( Maybe uploading to somewhere else would work?

BTW, does anyone have a link to the drivers their using? Thanks

I got it to work. here is a screenshot of fastboot on my pc. I was so happy to see cwm again! Started fresh and flashed the superuser zip you posted too. I followed your directions exactly, also I put my adb and fastboot folder in my user directory on windows, and created a folder called "phone" in my c: drive and placed cwma1.img in there so I could cd to it without confusing the path... I got my adb and fastboot stuff here from xda. [TOOL] [WINDOWS] ADB, Fastboot and Drivers -… | Android | XDA Forums Thanks a million donjuro for walking me thru it! :) now to debloat a little. I'll let you know how it's working.

Yea guys, just got an email that said my second mirror was suspended too. Will have to try mediafire when I get the chance.
Sands, could you take a screenshot of your software info under about in the settings?

Okay thanks Sands and donjuro! I'm setting up my PC to update and I'll do it once donjuro uploads another file! If I have any other questions I'll post on here :)

Installing...and having a mild anxiety attack. :P

EDIT: Success! Haven't tried anything root yet, but Superuser didn't give any errors! :D

I downloaded root checker and it says im not rooted? I went back in again into cwm and flashed superuser.zip again and still no joy :( i dont get what im doing wrong. Its workng fine i just don't have root

That's odd. Did you do a factory reset before you flashed the ROM and after? And did you clear the cache and dalvik cache?

do i flash superuser and then the update? im thinking I did this backwards. I dont have root whether I flash the update with no superuser zip or if I flash it after

Yeah, I actually had problems too, and the posted zip did not work either.
Downloaded this one and all is well, much joy!
