Root roms and themes

Yes, a ROM is firmware for your phone and a theme is kinda like a skin you put on a ROM. They are flashed the same, but you have to make sure the theme is compatible with the rom.

is there a difference between a rom and theme? if yes than does the theme install the same way that a rom installs?

welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!!!!
moved you over to the rooting section.

there is a big difference between the two.

a rom you can flash by itself but if you just flash a theme, it will not work as it only has parts of the rom. it is not a whole rom.

for themes you only need to wipe dalvik cache and cache to flash it.

edit: like windsoclarenc stated you need to make sure that you have right theme for the right rom. most themes can be found on the op for the rom.
