This has porbably been answered 100 times and if so im sorry. Been searching for a while and getting frustrated! lol. here it goes

I rooted my phone last night in hopes of being able to see emoji from a iphone. When I tried copying the font app to my sd card i didnt see a ROOT folder. Is this common or did i not do something right. I did the wimax test and said i was rooted as well as i can wifi tether. So IDK. Ima NOOB if you ever saw one and not very up to date on how to really flash, and roms, and techie stuff like that. Any help would be great.

Thanks

The root folder isn't a folder at all actually it's the root of the sd card, the top level, not in any folder.

Is it a flashable zip, app file(apk) or a metamorph file? Some files are not able to be flashed but have to be install a different way. This might be the case here.

Possible, did it give an error message of any kind? I'll need a little more info than install aborted lol. What exactly are you flashing and what recovery and version of it are you using? Bad down load maybe? Didn't unzip it did you? Lol help me to help you.

Yeah its a apk file. I didnt unzip it. Its called DroidSansFallback type is true type font file it just says

finding update package
opening update package
installing update
installation aborted

Wait so you want to change the font on your phone then? yeah you can't flash that unless someone put a signed zip together for you. So it's a zip file and inside that zip is an apk and a ttf? there are numerous ways to install and/or flash. Some zip files are signed and can be flashed like a rom some aren't some need extracted and pushed to the proper location some apk s can be installed from root explorer and some can be flashed from hboot. what is inside your zip file? When I change font I download the .ttf I want and place it in a ".fontchanger" file on my sd card then run the market app called font changer.

if it is a apk file you can use any number of file managers like astro file. find the file on your sd card. and press it and it should prompt you to install it. and install and enjoy. most apk files are installed in this manner.

You guys are great. I can see emoji now! sucks its only in black and white but its better than nothing! Hopefully google and asia will compromise and give it up.
