Root [ROMs Froyo] Upgrade your Xperia X8 to Froyo 2.2

Hi,
Thanks to you, gabeyong, I easily updated my SE x8 to floyo 0.25 yesterday. However I encountered one problem afterwards.

With original se x8 software i was using AutoCallRecorder by Roman G from android market successfully. I mean it was able to record calls internally (with hands free plugged in). After upgrading to floyo 0.25 AutoCallRecorder can only record calls from microphone.

Is there any way to fix this? Or maybe you can recommend some other app to record calls internally (with hands free on) on se x8 running floyo 0.25?

Hi,

You do not have to go back to stock 2.1
you just have to make sure that you use xRecovery to <factory reset (full wipe) and <wipe cache partition> before installing floyo-0.25.

For the percentage of battery problem is resolved, I set it in under Settings> CyanogenMOD Settings> User Interface> Status Bar> and hit it "Battery Percentage" and now Percentage of batteries have already appeared :)
Anyway, I want ask again. why when I want to change the ringing tone still can not be changed? I've also been using GoSMS but can not also?
Do you have a solution for this problem ? :confused:

hi gabeyong... i successfully installed floyo for my xperia x8. it works great, nothing's not working; and the camera is also functioning well.

But I have some few questions that I hope you will answer:
1. There's a problem with the FM Radio. I can't turn that thing off. I tried to kill it using the sort-of "Task Manager" but it's still in the Notification bar. Even when I play music from Music (Player), it kinda overlaps with the FM Radio. When I unplug my earphone, it's still running. This bothers me because it still eats up battery. Turning off is the solution, but I don't want to turn my phone off everytime I use the FM Radio. How can I turn it off (FM Radio) without turning the phone off?
2. I want the default pre-installed keyboard in the Xperia X8's rom. Sometimes, the QWERTY Keypad, together with the other keypads on HTC keyboard, the cursor suddenly spaces when i use some characters, say, punctuation marks.

Thanks, and more power on those great software and updates for the Xperia X8. You really did great in giving me hope for a better, Sony Ericsson phone :)) I am waiting for your response to this matter.
 
hi, im new here & i've tried the update of yours really awesome .. everything went well but after restoring the floyo 2.2.9 .. HackDroid logo comes SE logo comes n that's it.. keeps on restarting .... Help please ...:(

Hi,

use PC Companion to restore your X8's software and check your baseband.
If you have got a baseband ending with 006 you cannot use the custom rom

you have to flash the new baseband that ends with 015.

you can find the tools in racht's web post.

go to racht's post download BASEBAND.rar here<---
go to Blagus's post and download the baseband 015 here<---

Depending on your phone model download the correct baseband - X15i or X15a - DO NOT flash the wrong baseband.

X15i
Baseband 006 - kernel 2.0.2.A.0.24
Baseband 015 - kernel 2.1.1.A.0.6

X15a
Baseband 006 - kernel 2.0.2.A.0.24
Baseband 015 - kernel 2.1.1.A.0.6

unzip everything...
connect phone to PC
<launch> X10FlashTool.exe <select> the correct baseband 015
and flash your phone.

then just to be safe...
back to PC Companion --> restore official rom
then... root--> <install> xrecovery--> <flash> custom rom

Many thanks for providing this information. I recenetly got an X8 (yes, I'm a cheapskate! :D) and was finding the stock firmware really bad. Having rooted and followed this guide to installing Floyo, I am now really happy!

I've got a way to enable ringtone issue. The ringtone (i.e: mp3 file) must be placed in the "/sdcard/media/audio/notifications". now I was able to activate the mp3 ringtone :)

Gabeyong.. I've install the 2.2.9 ver, but may i know how do i use chinese keyboard? because there is no writting language for chinese? Sorry to disturb u again.. xD

Go download Smart Keyboard Pro and follow by Chinese for Smart KeyboardPRO and u can enjoy writing Chinese like a PRO.... hahaha

I have updated my X8 and it was totally awesome.

May I just ask.. I am deciding to buy a new Memory Card soon with the 8GB storage space. I have scanned the page and needed a partioning tool.

Can you give me a step-by-step procedure as to how to do this so that I can have a hassle-free experience? Thanks, you're the best !

Im trying to use my x8 to watch videos at Watch Free Anime | Anime Shows, Episodes in English Subbed & Dubbed

I had to get flash plugins for my x8, so i tried downloading com.adode.flashplayer-1 and installed it. However after installation my browser keeps crashing everytime i run it. Fortunately, it stops after uninstall adobe flash. Ive been searching the net for awhile now, still no luck of finding a way to watch videos there :(
