Root Roms

nope its been out longer than that i work for metro... i know

The release date on multiple websites is March 3. That is less than a month. You all might have had them around or for use by employees longer, but the public has not had access to them for even a month yet. I got mine the first full week of March and the salesman said that they just got them.

Besides all that, you are missing the point that there has not really been enough time for there to be ROMs available for it.

First I an asking and not complaining I know it has been less then a month so I was asking a simple question. If anybody was working on anything.

release date doesnt mean crap, look at teh indulge. the time for roms is how long after root/recovery

because if those take 4-5 months then it doenst matter when it came out cuz no devs can get the files anyways

completely agree, it really depends on when the source code is released :)

not sure why anyone thinks source code is needed. you guys keep askign for a rom, you have one already its stock, just no one has modded it and made a custom rom yet. you only need source for custom kernels.

and please dont take it as im singling you oiut, just happened to be your post that reminded me. ive seen a few around teh forum that claim once source is released then things can be done etc etc

No problem, I understand what you mean I would love a rom with a custom kernel though, I know a rom is only tweaks to the system, but kernel opens new possibilities, like over clocking for better performance, of course not only that ut can improve radio at least slightly. Anyways Thanks for the correction.

yea, a custom kernel really adds on to what you can get rolling. however deodexing and a handful of rom tweaks can go a long way towards speeding up. i have many prevail owners who will swear that the first couple versions of shabbymod about doubled the speed, but that was on a very slow device to begin with lol.

some cool init.rc tricks can prove useful as well towards making things run better overall yet you odnt need source for it

And as we all know, there's a lot I can do with a ROM. ;) I'm sure PG can do a bunch as well. It's all about owning the device.

True, I still don't understand if Devs can make modifications, to improve performance as well as other things, why the manufacturer don't do it in the first place?

speed vs selling a product that doesnt crash or have bugs.. as custom roms go, if its not working thats your fault for flashing... obviously we try our hardest to make sure things run great but if we put out a release that breaks gps, eh

if samsung puts out a phone that gps doesnt work then.. (well you have the SGS series) but you get the drift

Chances are good yea. It has the specs to run it. Just a matter if porting it

sounds good is it something you could accomplish? if you are already working on a rom is there any updates on how is it going? just a little impatient since cant wait to get my device with the best performance, keep up the good work.
