Root root ally without usb

Is there a way i can root the ally without usb with a program or some easier way every time i connect my phone to my computer with usb debbuging on i get a bunch of modem drivers that need to be installed that for some reason it doesnt install even though i pre-installed them & tried to manually install but both dont work any solution would be gr8 tnx

If you are on 2.1, you can use z4root. If you are on 2.2.1, sorry you need a computer to root(via Super One Click or Tridents method).

i know OP said had manually installed drivers. but with tridents guide it has all the correct drivers and will install them all. might work.

whats this tridents stuff y cant i find anything about it im googling & i cant find anything can you help me i had my previous ally rooted i would like to get this ally rooted i love all the stuff you can do with the rooted ally thanks for all your help
P.S. i am running 2.2.1

still doesn't work i don't think my phone connects successfully to a computer with usb debugging is there an app i can download?
i tried a few different ways, is there no app, universal androot used to work is there no new version of that......or a different app?

i had to re-install all of the android drivers to make the usb work right on my vista laptop. follow the 2.2.1 root guide and see if that fixes the drivers.
