Root Root and CWM Recovery for ZTE Concord 2

Please I need help my concord 2 is not rooting. I downloaded the link and made a file on my sd card with no spaces then extracted the file. I opened up ADB.exe it pops up then closes (not sure if thats supposed to happen) then I double click the bat file my phone restarts once then goes to its normal screen but i see nothing about installing or fixing a root.

the folder you make should be on the c drive of your computer
 
I just got this phone on sell at a kmart here in Denver for $80_tmobile version) . Here it is a week later and the phone is rooted right after I got it like usual .No thanks to the DEVs who put fourth the effort to do good things with our open softwares . Don't think it goes unnoticed . Now I can do more with the networked linux computers at home to brush up on the Linux + cert I am studying for .Its the things people in such an open software community do without holding back that has fueled my desire to learn more and more every year since '96 with that first 166 Mhz all the way up till today. I thank you from the bottom of my heart . Never stop doing what you do . We all notice in big ways .

hey, you should return that phone, and buy one from the Metro PCS website for $19.00

it is the same phone, and will work with Metro or Tmobile, and if you unlock it with other GSM providers

well Damn. i bet this kmart will return this one .I'm gonna check and buy me and my girlfriend phones tonight while waiting a bit to return this one. Thanks for the heads up.
 
Ok just so some of.you know . It took me three tries to complete the process because i didnt wait long enough. Also reboot the computer after installing the ZTE driver as mine had to be rebooted . wait for it to actually reboot the device twice once you get to that part .I think I endded up putting the .bat file and tools folder on the desktop also .wait at least 5 or more minutes for the whole process after clicking the .bat.I also removed my SDcard. good luck.
 
ok, last post i promise. the metropcs has quit online sales.they sale in store only now and with activation.My girlfriend really needs a new so she will be getting anyway. just wanted to let you all know about the metros

Dude thanks my phone is finally rooted :), I was wondering is there any hotspot apps that work on this phone all of the ones i tried either turn off immediately after being activated or never turn on at all
 
Anyone have any progress update or info on if someone is working on removing the Write protection so that we can fully utilize root?

Only works for the HTC One, but I thought maybe you could make changes to work in Concord ... I'm just saying, maybe it is not to be pressing or bothering someone.

Hola cyanoGEN14

A lo que se refiere hroark13 es que este Root se puede utilizar para muchas cosas igual que cualquier root pero la diferencia es que este tipo de telefonos tienen una proteccion diferente a los demas que cuando estas usando el telefono normalmente puedes hacer unas tareas(usar superSU y otras apps asi) que mientras no traten de modificar el sistema(system) lo podras hacer pero para algunas otras cosas debes de hacerlas desde el Recovery mode (boton de encendido y vol+ al misimo tiempo) con ADB y usar los comandos(remover / installar / hacer respaldo etc.) para lograrlo, espero que te sirva esto de algo.

signed up and thanked. Worked like a charm. went thru and deleted everything that said Metro on it and freed up some valuable memory. Just bought this for a cheap media device for the gym and for 20 bucks it rocks.

I did have a problem upfront with it not working. put the pause command in and saw it would not run from my downloads folder. had to move it out to the root of the C drive.

hroark13, Thank you for working this one out. It appears by installing the CMW recovery the phone no longer can receive OTA updates. Do you have a copy of the origninal ZTE 730 recovery image that can be restored to receive the updates? Also, the CMW recovery does not recognize the external sdcard in recovery and consequently cannot be used to back up the phone. Thank you again for the great work.

if not maybe you can try to backup your sd card to your computer, then format the sd card in CWM as VFAT

It works for others as far as recognizing the external sd is concerned. I have no clue about the OTA updates.

format sd in cwm as vfat (after you backup sd) and that should allow you to use it

if there is an update that wants to be installed, it may block root access, so you may not be able to be rooted again, I am really not sure at this point
 
Did not root my device it installed cmw 6.0.5 but I downloaded root checker and not root aaccess also no super user plz help when it reboots into cwm it ask me to the install untrusted zip when I do it says fail and then reboots
