Root root cricket zte grand x max

I use solid file explorer and i have removed some of the preinstalled system apps, like twitter and the version of dolphin browser zte uses and I have done a full power off and power back on and they are gone, no trace of them. Is there something else u would like for me to try and do that could give better verification

Yes I was 99% sure i knew what I was talking about before I posted it and I don't have enough tech knowledge to even begin to guess why I have full read write, I had the phone rooted back on KitKat but took the ota before you put the pre rooted rom out and have been periodically testing kingroot on it and then it worked and like I said full read write with no more then twrp and supersu

Maybe it is possible that the people who make kingroot learned about the method hroark13 discovered for disabling the write protection and they made it so kingroot does the command for you. This is just a wild guess of course I really have no idea why.

Airdroid..? The File Transfer app? Not meaning to sound rude but I tried that already, And I don't know if I'm blind but there was no hotspot option..
You can see the hotspot option on the pulldown menu from any screen...or go to Settings>Wireless Networks .. it will say Mobile Hotspot. That's where it is. The only problem is that after the small update that was pushed to the phones, it no longer worked and I was told to buy this feature from cricket.

Real quick cause its late i tried rro layers manager and have successfully installed a layer the first time around I got a system ui has stopped so I restored my phone tried again and didnt check theme system ui and it worked here are 2 screen shots one of the google app and one of settings themed using neat friends layers theme, dont have time to full around much more with it tonight but it does offer us new options with out a custom rom, as always back ur phone up before trying this and u must be on lollipop

Quick update system ui works it must have been an xposed module or an incompatible theme but for those who like to theme your phone this opens up all new possibilities enjoy

The moment when you use different Xposed methods to theme phone but a new app comes up xD

Can I just disable the modules without having to restore or wipe so I can apply layers scot-free from errors or whut?

The only xposed modules i stopped using were xstana and xblast, I still use gravity box. There are some elements of our ui that do not get themed ie. all the zte bull crap like the quick settings and signal bars in the status bar. Most layers themes have worked for me only like 2 have caused boot looos. Honestly trial and error is how i find what i like but if you encounter a boot loop the only way I have found to get out of it is to restore a nandroid back up

If you get a bootloop using layers, just boot into twrp recovery, mount system, go to the file manager in twrp (found under the advanced tab), delete the /system/vendor/overlay folder, and then reboot. This removes all the installed overlays without having to restore a nandroid. It is quicker and better than restoring a nandroid

I'm pretty sure I disabled the write protection using the method above by hroark13. Not sure how to properly test it though. But I did edit the build.prop to get rid of the nav bar and am now using GMD auto hide nav bar, and I've had no issues ( used to fc before and was just a pain in the arse, so I deleted it and re edited build.prop). My thing is, I don't like GMDs app and would like a more pie style nav solution without having to install Xposed. Any tips?

Also, I remember zte having an app that allowed for immersive navigation, I believe it's on the max 2, but I didn't really test it since I didn't have time at the store. Maybe if someone could pass that along I could use that on the max+?

Masterchief, I must ask if you think you can port max 2's Android 6.1? Since you are the only one I have seen doing anything with the max+

Sorry but that's not going to happen. Something like that is way beyond my skill level unfortunately. Also, the xmax 2 has a completely different chip so "porting" it's stock ROM to the xmax+ is pretty much impossible. It would be much easier to just build a custom ROM like CM13 or Dirty Unicorns but that also is above my skill level. I wish I could be more help.

All good. Maybe it's time for me to either learn how to make ROMs ( no time), or buy the new phone ( which I probably won't cuz I plan on going back to a smaller phone). Just tinkering with this until I decide which phone to buy.

Honestly for the price tag and bit of capabilities it does have its an overall decent device. The catch is, its a cricket only device for the time it seems so it's not a lot of attention on it cause of that. But I gotta give it up to ZTE, they killed it with this one. It don't need NFC or an infared blaster, it's got everything else but those 2 things. I can't wait til somebody does get it rooted cause it will change the game.

If you are talking about the Grand X Max + it has been rooted for quite some time.

I know this is kinda unrelated but does xposed work on this phone without bricking or bootlooping it
If you delete some apps from the System, Then yes. Don't just install it if you have bloatware that you don't need but is installed on your device, That seriously had mine on a bootloop. Had to install the ROM again lol

But seriously. Remove bloatware before you install Xposed.
