Root Root for Fierce 2?

I mostly want the update zip to see if it patches the qseecom driver, which is what we're going to use to move from system to root.
I can try to log the url where Alcatel stores the file, but I don't want to actually update, because I want root just as much as the next, and we don't know yet

So I had my brother root my Alcatel and he did it somehow. So its possible... but just came to post that I take back my offer.
hahhaha, sorry, i cant belive this, but if its true, we need to see proof :/

Well that requires flashing a recovery to root, which would not be the same recovery for the 7040N.
I think we have the stock recovery from the update, there's a recovery section, but I don't know that much about android yet, but I'm working on it

i have made some progress using emmc download mode but i am still missing some files and is a really risky procedure that can brick the phone. But as soon i have the good news you will all know :p.
Anything I can help with?

Someone who happens to have a backup phone should try this

I used a program similar to this to root my kyocera hydro icon, even tho it's not in the list of compatible devices. It's a generic but in depth kit kat root method for locked and unlocked bootloaders. With some adb drivers someone might be able to make it work.

Hope this helps, I also have this phone and would like it rooted.
