I just bought the feirce 2 yesterday when my beloved ZTE Avid overclocked for the last time and gave up the ghost. The dirty bastard behind the bullet proof glass at the Metro PCS Authorized Dealer location told me this phone could still USB tether to the laptop if I didn't want to upgrade my account for the $5 per month WiFi tether/hotspot option. Asked him 3 times. He said yes every time. Lol Stupid me.
Anyways. I can patiently wait for the root, I'll just go sit at Wendy's or Panera when I need to use my laptop in the meantime. Thanks for all your diligent work, everyone!

I'm loving it either way, this is a brilliant sub-$50 phone.. ART has me OCD on storage space, but I swear the smoothness is worth the storage space trade-off! I'd honestly take ART over Xposed framework at this point. Root would be nice, but I can live w/o it so long as I pair a rooted tablet.

Turn on debugging
Connect phone,
change mode to Charging.
(Qualcom platform in Sigma)
You will get 2 ports "ALCATEL HS-USB Android DIAG 9018". Select Second one.
Press Direct unlock.

He is like one of the only people going out of his way to find us root. Maybe he didn't have time to work on it. Regardless of what the reason is, he doesn't owe you anything. You could always find a way to root it yourself. Stop sounding so ungrateful.
