Root Root for Fierce 2?

Rooting this phone was fairly simple for me. I tried just using Antutu and Kingroot 4.2 but was unsuccessful numerous times. After using Geekbench 3 and CPU speed test along with Antutu it completed root on my first try. Just start all tests and wait until Antutu reaches 10-18 percent. Then start Kingroot immediately after. As far as I'm aware it is permanent even through a reboot and I haven't tried replacing Kinguser with SuperSU.

And thats the method i used, it worked perfectly and i recommend anyone who doesnt have root for this phone to try this method, if the instructions dont work for you, try the older post from page 43-48.

I have successfully rooted my 7040n and have swapped my kingroot with supersu using bakageta's script, I have installed twrp from the playstore but since my phone isn't on there list I'm not sure what to choose, anyone have any insight on this?

And another user rid of obnoxious Chinese root! Glad to hear it.

Unfortunately, we have a locked bootloader, so a direct flash is out of the question. We need a 2nd-init style recovery, but one doesn't exist for us yet, so we have no recovery option. Worse, I've not been able to get fastboot working either, so it's fairly easy to brick these when you start messing around a little more in-depth. Flashfire also doesn't work, sadly. I sent relevant data to see if we can get support, but don't hold your breath.

Xposed works fine, and if a module bootloops, its disable works too - mash on a volume key while powering on, it'll start to vibrate on press. Keep mashing until you get a longer vibe and it'll disable itself and boot. Disable the offending mod and tell it to install again.

Pushing apps to /system is fine, but be wary deleting them, a factory reset doesn't restore /system and some things are critical for first boot. You'll keep the su binary on factory reset, but to save hassle, install SuperSU as a system app and you won't need to reinstall it from the market on reset.

Custom play stores are fine to install, as are the usual questionable xposed modules, busybox, and similar. Feel free to ask about other mods, I can probably answer.

On the good news side of things, I was gifted a much nicer Xperia Z when a friend saw what I was using. It's now my daily, and I can get much more reckless with the Fierce 2, since I'm not out much if it bricks. I'll be attempting a recovery build with the chargemon unit hook over the next few weeks. These work well on other locked bootloader devices. Not my first recovery build, but it will be my first hooking init, so no promises. I'll update a new thread if anything looks promising.

Thanks for the heads up, I wont tempt fate then, I'm satisfied with my results and with what I can now do with my 7040n, with the exception of recovery, its now on par with my tablets with all the desirable, hacks, patches, mods and modules, definitely feels cleaner using supersu, thanks.

Ppl Alcatel One Touch Fierce 2 Can Be Rooted I Done It Done That The Only Problem I Had Was Unlocking The Bootloader And Adding The Rom Other Than That I Have Rooted This Phone.

Just found this I'm at work so I can't try it but someone want to test ithttp://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f719/alcatel-7040n-fierce-2-unlock-successful-1869145/

That unlock method requires specific hardware, it's not just plug in to any pc and run a script. From that thread:
In order to be able to service this phone model with the Sigma Software SigmaKey dongle or box is required.

It has nothing to do with root or a bootloader unlock, it's just a sim unlock.

Don't know if any other bad luck person bought this thing.. It's got good potential if rooted.
Thank you so much, I tried kingroot alone and it didn't work but doing what you said worked. Can I now delete those apps I had to install or should I keep them? I don't have a lot of internal storage.

I tried the kingroot and antutu method with the chinese version (which I believe if you Google "kingroot 4.0" it will give you the correct version) and it worked on the second attempt.

So as of today I just rooted my phone. I have alcatel fierce 2 7040N. Did the antutu and kingroot method. Open antutu then open kingroot let kingroot verify the root the before rooting jump back to antutu test it Till it gets to 5% wait 3 sec then go back to kingroot and start root. Its phone restart at 52% open antutu the go back to kingroot and it'll finish rooting to 100%

Tried it with AnTuTu, CPU speed test, geekbench 3 and Kingroot v4.5.0 (clean cache and data on all) ran all tests starting antutu last switched over to kingroot after 10% . Never even rebooted on me, (lucky me) and got root. Display benchmark popped up but just switched back to kingroot and it ran up to 100%

Thanks Mohnodo and dmolina007

It took me 4 full days to root my fierce 2 7040n. It was on the 4th day that I found this thread, and if I hadn't, I would probably still be trying. At first I tried just the kingroot 4.5/antutu method. After about 40 tries of just getting up to 55%, I added geekbench, speedtest, and cpu benchmark. This took only about 10 more tries before I was rooted. Yay!!!

Sooo, I would like to thank everybody who posted their tips for rooting and for saying not to give up. This phone isn't hopeless after all :-)

So has any one figured any thing out to unlock bootloader I've been trying different ways but to no luck any one else find any thing out for the Alcatel 7040n

Just wanted to sign up to say that I successfully rooted my 7040t. I'll give instructions:
1. Install kingroot latest English version from kingroot.net, antutu benchmark and stability test 2.7 from play store. You'll also need a demanding game installed (I used a game called Soccer Spirits).
2. Start your game to a point where it will run in the background. Press home and run antutu and start the test.
3. Start kingroot and begin the rooting process.
4. Open stability test 2.7 and run the CPU/GPU test at full detail. When the test starts and you see the 3d image, let it run for a few minutes.
5. Check on your kingroot after some time. It should say root achieved successfully or at least be pretty close.

I've found out an easier way to install root!
You'll ned to have AnTuTu Benchmark installed, Kingroot 4.5,and ANOTHER Kingroot 4.0 (Yes the same app but different versions)
Run the AnTuTu Benchamrk when it gets to 10%, press home and quickly run King Root latest version 4.5, it will then get to a certain percent (Around 20) and reboot when it reboots run King Root 4.0 and It will get to like 50 or more and it will seem to crash, the phone will then reboot and BOOM you hae Root!!

Also wondering if anyone has had success rooting alcatel onetouch pop icon a564c? I've read its the same or at least similar. Thanks!
