Root Root help please!

Running rooted DX with 2.2. When the OTA update for 2.2.1 came out the update worked fine but I seem to have lost root permission. I used Silent Killers "Root my X" method to obtain root and I've tried to use the unroot option to no avail.

Can someone tell me how to get root back so my DX can once again be awesome?

So when you type su into terminal emulator you don't get root access? Try z4root its not on the market but a quick search here or on Google will get it for you. Worked like a charm for me.

Sorry for your trouble. The answer is simple. Download z4root here: Download z4root 1.3.0 for Android Free - z4root will root your device and enable you to supply system level access to applications that request it. - Softpedia

install on your phone.. and go. If you freeze up installing it or if it won't finish, just reboot and do it again. MAKE sURE YOU ARE DISCONNECTED from your computer when you use it!

Okay z4 installed and run (took a few tries) rebooted and my root apps still won't work.

did z4 reboot your phone for you? If so, you're rooted. Make you're disconnected from your 'puter.

now z4 has a dialogue box that says "your device has an su binary and the force unroot option has been activated for you" and there its an unroot option, so my phone its rooted once again so why do my root apps still fail? Specifically jrummys dx overclock, root explorer

Try uninstalling the root apps and reinstalling them again.

When I re-rooted my overclock app wasn't working for me either. But I deleted it and re installed it. It worked fine afterwards.

as was said before, open terminal emulator.

type "su" (without the quotes). ..... does it show a # or a $? if you get a # it is rooted. if you get a $ it is not. try running z4root again, and make sure it restarts the phone.

if you are rooted (#), uninstall the apps, and reinstall them.
