Root Root IMG fail

Your main version is older than the version number of the Engineering Image. Use the leak root method.

Okay, every root image i've tried fails. After checking it says "Main version is older, Update failed" what gives??

Are you trying the old http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-eris/53963-guide-stock-1-5-latest-root-2-1-a.html method?

You might want to try using this instead: http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-eris/127861-universal-eris-root-dummies.html (this method does not require use of the the Android SDK and can be done completely from your phone).

This method does not require installation of a base root ROM since it allows you to install a custom recovery partition and then flash a custom ROM of your choice (without that pesky "main version is older" issue).

There is also this method: http://androidforums.com/htc-droid-eris/125436-detailed-leak-root-tutorial.html that uses the Android SDK (its essentially the same as the "Universal" method above).

Hope this helps.
