For those of you who are following along, a guy named b16 just posted the following in ##droidincredible and ##incredibleroot.
He claims to be the co-owner of alldroid, and left his email for verification.
Apparantly Jake (the real Jake) will post a comment on his site here later this evening.
Care to comment on any of this acid?

It's posts like these that will cause the Devs to stop working on this. The Dev teams do this on their own time. They don't get paid "unless someone donates", and they are not expected to do this for the community.
I take my hat off to all of those who are spending time working on root for this and any other device.
Everyone should stop flaming and wait for updates.

My only comment for the rest of the day is:
I am on my way to a Casino with my lady and friends to get drunk and gamble
I would advise everyone to step away from their keyboards or cells, take sometime to hug ur spouse, eat with family, drink with your friends, and be thankfull that we are worryijg about a cell phone and not about being homeless, starving, or in a war torn 3rd world country.
I love the community, and am sorry for being premature with news, premature is a problem, ask my girl

I really hope that Jake explains why he did not say the pictures were fake outright, even when he saw them on his comments (and you can't say he did not see them since he made an update to his blog post: UPDATE (05/31/2010): It appears several people have been commenting on the picture of the Incredible rooted. I plan on posting further info tonight... no more comments for now.). So regardless of whether someone was pretending or not, all of this could have been avoided, yet Jake did not take the initiative. Why? No one probably knows except him, so I will be looking forward to his next update.

Just to be the optimistic dude, granted no one has root yet, I am sure it is close and it will be a matter of time - but it won't hurt to send me donations though lol

Talk about revisionist history.
He didn't post that kernels "were being built". He posted that an Incredible running an over clocked kernel BOOTED and ran smoothly. BIG difference.
People believed he rooted the Incredible because he posted that an Incredible booted and ran an over clocked kernel he made.
This guy really is a piece of work and isn't doing himself any favors with these posts.

without starting anything, I agree - how can you test for satability of an overclocking kernel without testing it on the device which he did say he got it running and pushing for 2.0 #justsaying

I agree with you 100%, there have been far too many contradictions in the past week, it has gotten ridiculous. The inconsiderate and immature kids out there are really starting to ruin it for everyone else, I'm taking a couple day break from all this BS.

OK, so I just read his latest post, and it still does not shine any light on why he acknowledged the fake picture yet didn't say anything (namely: "FAKE, NOT MY PIC," would have sufficed just fine). To me, all this sounds like some type of pub stunt for Alldroid, as I saw b16 also comment the Phandroid post about the Incredible being rooted and telling everyone to go to his forum. I won't call BS on anyone at this point, however things definitely don't mesh. I wish Jake the best in rooting this bad boy.

Not trying to be rude but if you read his past posts he states that his "friend" stated that he had rooted the DINC and had tested the kernels for him. Apparently he was relying on a friend who felt the need to lie to him and make a fool out of him. I mean honestly I would have wanted to see if with my own eyes before I put anything on my website about it but hey apparently he thought he could trust his friend and his friend betrayed that trust.
