Hi,

I think you have a drivers issue... download drivers, enable usb debugging and do not mount your phone's sd card.

it should work.

cheers :)

I Follow step by step for my phone Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830. It work very well. 100%.
My SDCard 16GB. 1GB FAT32 and 14GB Fat32.

I've formatted and created 2 partition my 8 GB SD Card, and i can't find the second partition after i mount the SD Card. Any advice for this?
Thanks.

second partition cannot be seen, the phone's Link2SD app uses it.
so if you are able to transfer your apps to your sd card then there is no problems.

No you don't need custom rom. You just need to follow ALL the instruction above.

hi,
i use an xperia - x8 on 2.1
i partition my 4 gig sd card into two primary fat 32 - one for 3.4 and other for 512 mb using minitool. Minitool successfully completes partitioning.

But when i plug it into phone, it says 'blank sd card , unsupported file system, need to format'.

Have been trying this method since ages now, just doesnt work for me.. :(, Where am i going wrong???

Also,Is there a way to partition it from phone by any app???

Hi,

there are a few thing to take note.
1) both partitions must be formated FAT32
2) both partitions MUST NOT be named
3) if you are trying to access your memory card from your phone only the main partition will be recognised by your phone.

cheers :)

Hi all,

I have implemented the mentioned process successfully till step 5.
The problem is I am unable to make both the partitions to primary..either of one is becoming 'logical' automatically if i choose the other as primary..
Please help me out on this

Thnx

Hi all,
I managed to install and use Link2SD app, all the installed apps (4 or 5 peces) are moved to SD card's Ext2 partition, but still I get the message that there is not enough space to install the new app . Free internap capacity is about 50Mb. What can be the problem?? Thanks for the answers in advance.

i have a question regarding this, the maximum size of the 2nd partition is 1gb? can you explain why? pls :D i wanted to have 2gb of 2nd partition :)

Message from the dark side there is...

One silly question. Can I format SD card fully due pc and than install system due PC companion( repair phone) I've rooted phone , already have done reset to factory sett.
I've been messing with xrecovery(installing/uninstalling) and when I wanted to install again (I had busybox) it said that it can not install cause it was installed already.
I know I've uninstalled it for sure. I got confused 'cause there were several xrecovery and several ways to install it.
BTW my phone :XPERIA x8 E15i :D

Hi,

your SD Card should have 2 partitions... first partition to store your stuff (eg. music, videos, books etc...) and second partition use by the phone to store installed apps.

If you have 2 partitions on a 2GB SD Card... consider how you would want to partition your sd card in terms of storage space for your media and storage for your phone apps. Of course a bigger SD Card would resolve this issue.

I hope this clears up the confusion.

cheers :)
