Root [Root] LG Leon MetroPCS

Well just becarefull with supersume if you rooted with kingroot 4.0.0 which it even printed in supersume as you run it that as long as its 4.0.1 kingroot and up. I rooted with kingroot 4.0.0 and completed the switch but my phone never seen another boot after that only the metro screen. I rooted my second with 4.0.1 I rooted think I know I upgraded to 4.5.0 after which. But ya I followed every step to a T and it even said success but unfortunately she froze on metro logo so that why I say becarefull glad it worked for you though.

So, a lot of people root and go crazy installing roms and such. Me, I am a gentle rooter... I rooted my LG F3 so I could run AParted and LinkSD to get around their memory snafu, and I rooted my Samsung Tablet so I could run better cleaning utilities and keep it speedy.

My Leon is on the way and I want to root again so I can have complete control over the OS and keep it lean. Here's my plan:
1) Activate and download all current updates
2) Run the steps in the first post
3) Turn off OTA updates using the "hidden" menu sticky elsewhere here

But then do I NEED to replace Kingroot with SuperSUme, or run any other scripts? (I've never run scripts before...) Any problems with my plan or the OP's method with the latest updates?

USING SENDCOMMAND ON 10E CAN SOFT-BRICK, BUT ALL MAY NOT BE LOST. I managed to get root working on my MetroPCS LG Leon with firmware 10e (Lollipop v5.1.1).

Unlike my experience rooting with 10b, running the lg_root.sh on 10e only created directories and symlinks; no files from the UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip copied over. So I extracted the armv7 and common folders from the zip and put in /data/local/tmp/ via adb, then from Firmware Download mode I used the SendCommand terminal to manually remount the system read/write and copy the su files to their respective system paths.

A few tips... For me, even though the booting device appeared hung or stuck in bootloop after running lg_root.sh, I was able to still access it from adb and transfer files (JUST DON'T FACTORY DATA RESET)... then I just pulled the battery, and it was back to Firmware Download mode for trial and error in the SendCommand terminal. Manually typing the commands to remount worked, and I was able to copy over all the su files to finish the steps and get root on it. I just had to ensure I also set the permissions on them afterwards

I can expand if anyone is interested. There is definitely the potential to hose things up. Normal warnings follow (e.g., I'm not responsible for your brick). Only experienced users should try.

I found out the hard way today that rooting 10e was not good using the 1 step software... I'm new to phone computing - could you be so kind to help walk me through what you did or send me a link so I can fix my phone!!! thank you...

Help! I have three LG 345... One I have already rooted. No problem at all - thank you for the posting and links. It made everything super easy and fast. Second phone had done a firmware update last week which I did fully understand, but that changed the software from 10b to 10e... When I tried rooting that phone it went through all the steps and finished - but is now stuck at the load window - to turn the phone off I have to pull the battery out... "soft brick" I believe is the term used... How can I fix this!!! Please - open to anyone, but please walk me through... thank you so much...

Thank you so much for the info. Unbricked and now has 10d running. Tried to root again, but the phone soft bricked again. Took me all of four minutes to unbrick again, but not sure what i should do to root - used LG One Root Click v1.3 - should i be using the Script version with 10d?

Hey all I have been searching through the forums trying to find out if its possible to kingroot or any other means of gaining super user rights for the Leon without a pc for firmware 10e? Just bought my mom a leon for her b-day and she would love if I could root it for her but I didnt realize the firware was 10e instead of 10b like my leon. Is there anyway at all to downgrade to 5.0.1 or somthing, ANYTHING without needing a pc. I have been searching around but am not getting a yay or nay really on if its possible to one click root the Leon running firmware 10e? Anybody out there know if its possible? It would be nice to hand her her phone tonight at the party already rooted and with TWRP, maybe even cyanogenmod. Thanks for any advice every/anyone plz☺

DJ Rios? Ok I'll try to find it bro thanks. Just needed to know if it was possible. Thanks for the heads up. Ughhh the search continues. So just do a search in here on DJ Rios? Ok man thanks I'll try to find it.

O ok this thread Im on, Ok I'll start at the begining thanks alot man. Sure hope too root and have TWRP for her. I assume if 10e is one click rootable that I use the same blue 2.8.7.0 TWRP we all use for firmware 10b.

Damn looks like I need a pc to root & use TWRP. Just purchased phone so maybe I can exchange it tomorrow and get the firmware version I need to one click root and have recovery on the 10e. Sounds like 10e boatloaders are locked on this version too a? Damn.

That's not rooting 10e. That's downgrading to 10d and rooting 10d. There is already a thread about that. I'm curious if you actually did root 10e.

Is gaining TWRP possible no pc? Sorry bro and thanks. I see theres alot of pc references and am a little unsure as to if I can gain root and a custom recovery, no pc? My bad Ive been doing my own homework here believe you me, Im just trying to grab all the pieces of info I can. And I gotta say Im unsure about if I can use the same TWRP for 10e firmware as the 5.0.1 10b metroPCS version and I'll see if kingroot 4.1 I believe it is, e'll get er rooted so I can install TWRP 2.8.7.0 if infact that is this firmwares fitting custom recovery.

And from what Ive read kingroot one click is "safer" than iRoot? And I just use the c50 version within Twrp manager for 5.1.1 10e? I used Flashify I do believe to install TWRP on 5.0.1 but this is 5.1.1 so is that pretty much why I need to go the TWRP manager app route? Also from what Ive gathered sounds like the bootloaders are locked with the 5.1.1 update on firmware 10e?

Need pc to downgrade from 10e correct? And the OEM only needs to be on if you have a pc or laptop to be able to unlock bootloaders if Im not mistaken and only needs to be checked on if you have a pc or laptop to unlock to begin with is that about right? Just tried latest update of kingroot & it wont root.

Anybody know of or even perhaps have the link to any possible one click rooter apk.s for the Leon running obviously a stock 5.1.1 10e firmware device? Im not just trying to get anybody to do my work searchin for me Ive tried kingroots latest version and it doesnt work, not sure if I need OEM on, but I think oem on is just for unlocking bootloader if you have pc or laptop. Sorry Im famiar but pretty bran new to rooting by way of pc which I dont own. And/or unlocking bootloaders. Any point in the right direction is appreciated. Yeah OEM is what I thought. Ok as far as I can tell Ive tried every Kingroot version and can confirm it will not root 10e.
