Yea that's such a nice feature ...I found it while digging through all the settings. I did the app restore so fiiiiinally I think I'm all set. Only having one small issue with the hang up button not working. I posted my reply on the other thread someone put out there. Not sure why that's not working.
 
OK. I just posted on the original thread on xda about it. I havent had the issue. I tested sending and receiving I can hang up. Don't worry it will get sorted out

Edit- I let the Dev know that the problem only exists in the newest build. He is still on vacation for a few more days so just stick with the 1/29 build
 
I'm running perfectly stable from ga10 with agat flash to kobridges ga10(rootedw/ no deodex) with the sf? Tweak and bloatware remover, made the mms, wimax, and 3g tweaks and removed throttle, no crashes battery is questionable but I ordered 2 "OEM" from amazon on my second one now testing it and it looks promising

Note: I believe I have to look for a gps fix though
Edit: the gpsfix app by Android lab that is recommend in op, did the job immediately no flash required
 
I have a question..how do u get the jellybean update on this phone?cuz my version says 4.0.4 on it.thats still ICS right?

Yeah that's ICS. As of right now there is no official jelly bean update. There are only leaked jb ROMs that can be flashed and and Aosp jelly bean roms. They are all custom ROMs no jb update
 
O OK.I get it..I tell u wat,this s2 is way more complicated when it comes to the whole root and custom ROM thing then any other androids I have messes with.feels like I'll be a NOOB forever..lol
 
I just bought my galaxy. I had a warp. I want to root my phone. Tell me if this is correct please.
1.downloaded baked blackbean and gapps. Downloaded agat.
2.i then flash agat from the stock recovery reboot and flash baked black bean and gapps. Reboot and enjoy?

My questions are: doi need a PC to do this or is that only if i want to install a touch wiz jb? Once i root i can use mobile odin to install a touch wiz rom? Is it necessary to use mobile Odin to flash the stock recovery? I think I'll root before you reply here goes nothing.
 
You will get the hang of it. Just try things and follow the install instructions on each individual ROM and you will be good. And you'll learn
 
I tried flashing the kernels you suggested to konceptz and the Android robot chest opened up and a red triangle showed up. The kernel didn't work.what should I do?

It depends on what your trying to do... First are you rooted? Or did you try to flash it in stock recovery?
I was unaware of you trying to use it. so I have no clue of the situation.

If you are rooted and tried to flash that in agats and that happened then it sounds like a bad download

But that is a jelly bean kernel and u should only be trying to flash it if u are planning on flashing what he was planning on flashing with the ROM and gapps already on your SD card. Just reboot you're phone because it didn't flash it. Tell me what you're trying to do and I'll help you figure out what you need
 
Thanks. I'm not rooted. I thought the kernel would root my phone. I don't have a PC handy. How do I root from my phone? And yes I have the baked bean,gapps,and agat on my sd card. I did try to flash in stock r recovery. How can I root from my phone?
 
There is a way to root from your phone but it doesn't give you a recovery. So you can't flash new ROMs or anything. Krowbar has got the maker of mobile Odin to support our phone in its next update hopefully but it currently doesn't support us on stock boost ROM....

I suggest waiting until u can use a computer because the exynos root app is a useless root. Because you can't flash anything. And it doesn't work on fl24 which I'm assuming your on...

Also note that with baked bean being jb non tw you will need an ics modem, which I wish I was aware of when I started my journey
 
Yup.. You Dont even have to think about flashing a modem unless you try a tw jb ROM... We are already on ICS stock. Modems do not flash in ROMs so your ICS modem your on now will follow you everywhere unless u flash a different one...

You just have to known when u need a different on. I always have fl24 and ga10 modem on SD. Bcuz u can flash it in recovery to get your data back if u forgot to do it before switching from or to tw jelly bean.
 
ugh, i must be an idiot because it's taking a long time for this to penetrate my thick skull lol. last night i followed the advice here, and after much tinkering (and a little crying when i couldn't get it to boot lol) i was able to get the phone rooted with the agat recovery kernel. once i had that, i tried to flash cm10 which didn't work (it gave an error in the recovery and didn't even try, almost seemed like it was saying i had an incompatible phone). i tried flashing another recovery kernel that wasn't jellybean as instructed, and had the exact same result. i tried flashing another version of cm10 and had the same result.

does anyone know what i'm doing wrong? maybe i should just try the BB rom as suggested, but i do not like the look of it based on the screenshots :(. I also like CM a lot.
 
Read post number 41... And download kernel I gave him. Read my instructions.. Keep reading if you want to know how it turned out...

That kernel will work with cm10 too... But to be honest cm isn't all that special. Black bean is pretty much cm but way more. Try them both to understand what I'm saying.

And put this kernel on your SD so u don't have to Odin it anymore. It's the stock agat so you can flash it in recovery then reboot recovery then restore your stock backup if you want or need to

Read the instructions I gave him. The recovery will always boot even when the phone won't. You can always flash the agat recovery then reboot recovery not system and youll be back in agat recovery then restore your stock backup... If you didn't make one do it before you do anything else

Don't try to boot the phone after flashing this as its a jb kernel it just won't boot. Only reboot recovery! Then wipe data and both caches. Then flash ROM and gapps and now u can boot the phone...

If for some reason it aborts again just flash the agat kernel zip I had u download. Then reboot recovery. And you can either boot phone or restore your backup. P.s agat takes forever to restore. It sits on checking md5 checksum for a long time. Don't worry it will do its thing

i will definitely try the other mods, but i really hate the theme for the black bean (i have a general distaste for overly black themes, cyanogen included haha)

do you have any other recommendations that seem good? here's the perfect example of a rom i would like to have (though i realize that it is designed for a different phone):

Well the multi tasking app is being worked on on xda but theyve been stuck for awhile.. It's a port from the note2... Idk man black bean is really customizable like that. Aokp is too. Pacman is too... Not the 4.2 version. Just try ROMs and find what you like
 
will do now that i got it figured out. again, couldn't thank you enough! i'm gonna use CM10 long enough to see how well it works then try several others. i will try black bean, wont hurt! :)
 
SelfElevated2.... Give this a shot go to settings, baked settings, prop modder, then check off fix permissions... Ps... Location services/gps was on but not working while I did this... Once u check off fix permissions reboot into recovery and wipe both caches. Then reboot back normally. Once u boot up again open ur navigation or maps and see if it works. Seems to be working for me.

Your on WiFi bud. Turn that off and then try to get it to say location set..I told you WiFi will get you a location. It's when your not on it that counts


I couldn't test it anyway mine works. I followed my own advice and got a lock before flashing. Thats why I just reflashed before helping you root that night

And LOL because you look like you're from new Jersey with the accent and all:p

Notice I'm not on WiFi but I am on Blackman with a instant GPS lock
