Root Root POst 2.3

Hi.

I am bored with my phone now adn with 6 months until i can upgrade i have decided to Root. Is it possible to root after the offical 2.3 upgrade was installed. I thnk i read somewhere that this now isnt possible. Is there a good guide for this?

Edit - I have been doing some reading and it says i need to access recovery mode by holding volumn down when turning on the phone, my volumnn down is broke. any way around this?
 
Hi Thanks i Did this and now have superuser access (app in the app draw) this means I'm rooted right? What the hell do i do now lol. Where do i get roms from and how do i install them.
 
Thanks I did this and followed the instructions on getting S-off and i now have root. What do i do now, Where do i find roms, how do i know if they work with what i have done and how do i install them.
 
Yes you need to flash Google apps available in the cm thread on xda. Google asked cm not to provide Google apps with their roms

Sorry to be a pain but do you have the link, i cant find it. Also i installed a Market apk i had and now it says that i need to add an account. When i say yes it takes me to home screen and thats it. Cant add my google account to this phone now :(

Edit- Found it. All ok now
