How did you nandroid? Do you have a custom recovery, if so how do I get it?

With online nandroid. It is in the Market and or xda forums. Hopefully if I do anything I can recover with it through adb.

Yes the back up is what I am talking about. And need you to look for a folder I device called vold.fstab if you can find it copy it to sdcard and pull it to pc and post it.

Thanks for all the work you guys put into discovering these exploits. I will be getting mine next week. From what you guys are seeing, is there ANY real chance of running a custom kernel? A little overclocking action on the Commando would be fan-freaking-tastic!!

I didn't install one. Just plugged the phone in and switched it to media device then opened a terminal and tired in adb devices to make sure it saw the device.

Yeah I'm an idiot... I just installed the generic adb drivers and rooted just fine. Now all we need is a recovery and we're totally in business!

can some one use adb and try cat proc/mtd then post what you get. i am working on a recovery for you, but i dont have phone yet.

I've got no mtd directory under /proc. There is one called mounts, though. Could that be what you need?

Ok never used it. If you are willing to try some things for me to night. So we can see about getting a working recovery. I need some thing pulled from the phone. That vold file would be a great help. ok guys the next step is getting past the bootloader. that will be the trick that we need to come up with. I do not have the phone yet, but will help in any way I can. between manigma77 and brevitas2005 I have the boot.img and stock recovery.img and system.img. I have made a test build cwm recovery.img but the bootloader is locked down. so happy hunting. by the way manigma77 tried the ##7764726 didn't work on this phone. thanks manigma77 for the help. just a thought if someone could get the msl # and try to get into program mode casio may have done the bypass booting in the c811 to or not. its worth a try.
