so i rooted with simple ota root and this rom How to start over: Fully rooted stock 1.47.651.1 in one shot (no adb!) - xda-developers. that went fine. but now i want to try damage control but i can't get it to load
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=700649

i followed this and still it wont load

Power off the EVO... you know this part well by now lol

Power on into the recovery mode (holding the Volume Down key and pressing power like you have before)

Scroll down to the recovery option. (follow the prompts to make a backup if you haven't already, so you can restore to the Simpleroot state if needed)

Choose the option to wipe data/factory reset, then wipe cache partition, then go to advanced, and wipe dalvik as well.

Select install zip from sdcard, then choose zip from sdcard, scroll down to the .zip file you copied earlier, hit the power key to select, and wait for it to say install complete.

Select the reboot now option, watch your phone reboot, and hope for the best.

i have clockwork recovery setup what am i missing?

that turned out to be the issue. now that i have it loaded i'm not seeing much difference over the stock root

thats the point. The purpose of that fix is to give you a stock ROM, with root and NAND access, and working wimax all with the latest OTA that improves battery life and wifi.

Its meant to be a go-to starting point for flashing other ROMs which will be different. This is why you MUST make a nandroid after you do it so you can always revert to a working, rooted point.

i did make a nandroid the point is i put damagecontrol on it and while it is stable i have yet to figure out the point of this rom it's supposed to support flash 10.1 but i can't figure out if i have to put it on it or if they already put it there. it's not well stated on XDA
