Help Rooted my Inspire...woohoo

ebritt

Newbie
Well I went and did it. went smoothly.
Now......
I need to know how to get rid of ATT crapware...Blockbuster, Twitter, Asphalt 5 etc etc etc

Also want to get Sense 3.0 or better on it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't even bother to remove the bloatware, just flash a sense 3.0 rom instead.

There are quite a few sense 3.0 roms. I don't personally use sense based roms so i can't recommend any. Instead take a look at the Inspire 4g developerment section on xda

Inspire 4G Android Development - xda-developers

You can also use Desire HD based rom's since our Inspire is the cousin of the Desire HD

As far as flashing roms go. The effen manual has instructions on that. But here is a short summary

-Download rom zip, place on sdcard
-Boot into recovery
-Wipe data and cache
-Install zip from sdcard
-Reboot

I did delete the crapware using titanium backup. Then decided on a new Rom. Used gb sense3.0 Rom from CDs. Works perfect. Only thing.......now sense seems to use waaay more battery than before. Using android assistant was about 5% or less but now hovers around 20%. Could there be discrepancy between how its rated? Is 20% outside normal?

Sense in general will be a battery killer. I don't really understand what your saying though with gingerbread rom from CDs. android assistant. and hovers around 20%.

If battery life is your major concern maybe you should give an AOSP based rom like Cyanogenmod 7 a try.

Sorry, CDs should read XDA. My phone auto corrected and I didn't notice.
As for battery usage its down now. Not sure which tweak fixed it but it came down from 20% + to around 8%. Where I am getting this is from the tool/battery tab in Android Assistant.
I am willing to give up a little battery to have my "eye-candy"...to me, the most efficient fone sucks if its boring....might as well pack around a calculator. Blech??
