Root rooted or not

hello. i purchased a second hand galaxy 5 and the seller told me that he already rooted it, but the superuser application is not there. then he told me it was lost when he had a phone reset.

is my phone already rooted?

I've moved your thread from the Android Lounge to what I hope is your proper phone's all-things-root sub-forum (let me know by PM or reply if this is not a Samsung Galaxy Europe (5) device).

The easiest way to tell if you are rooted would be to download and install the "Android Terminal Emulator" app. After you install it, launch it and type "su" (without the quotes). If the prompt changes from a "$" to a "#", then you are indeed rooted, otherwise, not-so-much .

thanks sir. i have here universal androot 1.6.2. can i try to root it whether it's already rooted(can't figure out) or not?
