Root rooted phone, but unrevoked shows error .. should I be very afraid ?

I just rooted my phone, I have the superuser icon, but am not totally sure about all this.

I tried to follow suROOTs guide at:

I did confirm that I have BRAVO PVT4 SHIP S-ON, and have the erase size is 40.000, so I supposed to latest Amon-RA recovery.

However, I started unrevoked with the USB cable plugged in, so it just started to install, without ever allowing me to choose the latest Amon-Ra recovery.

The phone restarted and gave some errors (in my panic, I did not take note of what the error was). I was givin the option to restart the phone, so I did. At this point the superuser icon was not to be found.

I then unplugged the phone, and ran unrevoked again, (this time I pointed to the Amon-Ra). When the phone restarted, I was given a message saying that zysploit crashed.

unrevoked on the PC says "Error: failed to get root. Is your firmware too new". The superuser is there ....

but the error from the PC, and the fact that zysploit crashed .. makes me fear that this might not all be OK.

The phone seems to run alright ... should I just live happily and expect it to be ok, or is there anything to worried about ?
 
try booting to recovery via voldown+power
does it take you to amonRA 2.0.0/2.0.1?

are you able to install titanium backup and download busybox from it (when you install titanium backup it will ask for root, then click problems to see if it will download and install busybox)

whats your sw versions in system information
 
DAMN!

TitaniumBackup first comes with a warning saying it needs root, and then says it could not achieve root.

The guide says that it's not possible to root ARA 2.32.415.x. When I check software versions, I get the following, but am not sure where I should see if it was that ARA build.

NOT ARA build.

Its the erase size that is the problem. Try running through unrevoked again. Before pressing buttons, look at the top and it should have an option to select your own recovery image.

it will download busybox and install it

next time it should get root]



can you boot to hboot (voldown+power) and give us all the info there please
 
According to the guide at unrevoked it says I should reinstall HTC Sync before running unrevoked, but when I start unrevoked, it says "Make sure HTC sync is *not installed".

Installed or not ?
 
Install and then uninstall htc sync for drivers.

At that same screen where it is waiting for device, File>Custom Recovery

I tried rooting all over, same thing happened. Got same error about the firmware being to new.

I then tried the following:

I tried starting TitaniumBackup again, clicked problems. It asked if it should download busybox, and it did.
I then tried to restart TitaniumBackup again, and it gave a error message saying "Titanium Backup (proces.com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup) was stopped.

I then restarted the phone, and held down Vol Down and power, it gave me the following info:

BRAVO PVT4 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.93.0001
MICROP-051d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-5.11.05.27
Aug 10 2010, 17.52.18

and then a menu with fastboot, recovery, clear storage and simlock.

I restarted it again, and tried starting Titanium Backup again.
It showed a text saying "asking for root rights" ... and then started the program. No error or anything!
 
did the ninja pop up at any point saying to allow root?


when in hboot go scroll down to recovery using volume rocker then press power
what does it boot to?

That sounds normal. Open the superuser app and see what it says about titanium.

Also, Answer Rastaman about what recovery you have. Did you do the FILE>Custom recovery in unrevoked?

Yes it would be good for someone who knows to do a HTC desire specific one. If you do it, will you include drivers in it too? That would be fantastic.

I bet you have used unrevoked more than anyone on this forum.
 
The ninja did not pop up anywhere to ask for anything.

In hboot, if I scroll down to recovery and click the power button, it boots into "ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.0.7".

It gives me a menu with 8 points, and then at the buttom it says: "ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.0.7

ok so somehow it managed to flash clockwork mod on your phone but its an old version which is not supported on your device

which version of unrevoked are you using?
 
I open the superusers app, and see some info about Titanium Backup (and some about Screen Shot It Trial, but I guess that's not relevant).

about TitaniumBackup it says:
/system/bin/sh som root (ID:0)
and shows a green dot right beside it.
 
Again, sounds fine. However, I didn't think that version of clockworkmod supported 40,000. Maybe unrevoked use a modded version now?

When you use Unrevoked, you open the app. It says "Waiting for device". You then go to File>Custom recovery and browse to AmonRA img you downloaded.

Although I mentioned this earlier, you still have clockworkmod. Did you do this the second time? If not, do it a third time, this time doing the above.
 
If the cable is plugged in when starting Unrevoked, it will start right away, and not give me the chance to click Custom recoery.

So I'll try it again. I start the program first, click file and then custom recovery. I then point to the image I have downloaded (from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=9207011#post9207011 called recovery-RA-desire-v2.0.0.img).

I connect the cable.
It gives a warning, I click OK.


It then runs through some steps, and restart the phone (first in bootlader and then in Android).
When back in android it asks for my sim pin, I click in the pin.

It then gives a message about the program zysploit is stopped. I accept it being closed.
.... and then I get the error message again.
 
3.21 uses the older rageagainstthecage exploit which will still work on your device
you should use 2.0.1 rather than 2.0.0 btw. AmonRa made it as a test build but its better than 2.0. ive had no problems with it
