Root Rooted, removed bloatware, now 4g is disconnected..

Lurker
The title says it. I read on the forums here about how to root, what apps thought to be safe to remove, then proceeded with caution to do so. Now I'm in bit of a trouble because 4G has been disconnected. I hold myself accountable for what I do, so please if anyone can shed light on what steps to take, I will greatly appreciate it.

After successfully using the 1-click root found here, I downloaded ES File Manager and Android Mate. Using Android Mate I would run the app first (if it wasn't already) then long-press Properties to get the exact filename, then Stop app. Using ES File Manager I went into system>app folder to Rename the app from xxx.apk to xxx.apk.bak (method I followed from successfully rooting my LG Optimus).

To note: while I was renaming apps the screen would do a refresh where the SD card would reload and do a check. Also, I was on Wi-Fi the entire time and USB cable/charging was not connected. When I finally finished renaming enough apps (never removed/deleted/uninstalled apps), I disconnected Wi-Fi but the 4G icon would not re-appear. I got worried so I tried a restart then shutdown and restart. On a third restart I noticed the 4G uicc card icon (top right corner not left for micro sd) had an X over it.. Immediately, I checked the wireless settings (mobile networks), re-checked all apps renamed, let the phone sit on and off to give it time, all to no avail. This is a list of apps I renamed:

11-11-11-10h-56m_9340_9258_answers_obfuscate-release.apk
11-11-11-14h-16m_9340_9258_movies_obfuscate-release.apk
BooksPhone.apk
HelpCenter.apk
LGEmail.apk
LGMS840_MetroNavigator_6.3.0_Build_44_rel_PROD_signed_10072011.apk
Loopt_v4.5.4_Unified_Final31.apk
Metro411_2.0.8)11152011.apk
MetroPCS-EasyWiFi-android-4.3.111.apk
MobilePosse_MetroPCS.apk
MobileUpdateClient.apk
MPCS-IMandSocial-4.0.24-0203.apk
Music2.apk (?)
PEX-6.5.0.1.107565-metrolte-rc.apk (?)
SmartShare.apk
SNS.apk
sports.apk
Videos.apk
WeatherWidget.apk (?)
WhatsNew.apk
WiFiCast.apk
z7-android2x.apk

22 apps renamed, with 3 (?) I think may have possibly been the cause for disconnection. Music2 is Google Music (should taken note of Google in it :?) and might be the main problem, PEX is PocketExpress but "metrolte" part worries me, and WeatherWidget might have been part of android system not metropcs. Can anyone who has or has not removed/renamed 1 of these 3 or any above help me identify?

I spoke with a metropcs employee previous to buying the LG Connect that there are uicc card replacements available but didn't know how much or where to get. The Connect being the first to offer replacement cards.

I have since renamed everything from xxx.apk.bak to xxx.apk again. Still no 4G. Phone About says 4G is disconnected and I can text/call but no internet.. at this point I'm ready to visit a corporate store to try and get more info but the nearest one is an hour and half away. Can anyone please shed light on where I can get more info/help/replacement uicc cost?

Thank you very much,
Mack

MobileUpdateClient.apk

thats were you messed up that is a lg app that is used to update your phone and such i installed anycut and opened mobile and it updated my phone to zv9 so u need to somehow restore this app

Resolved.

I restored everything to stock (renaming, removing superuser, etc) then spent an hour at a dealer. After a couple refreshes, re-program, hard reset, switching mobile carrier to auto/metropcs the uicc card was still not detected. I was ready to give up.. on my way out the store, I noticed under Wireless > Mobile > Data Enabled was unchecked! I simply checked the box then 4G re-appeared, the X over uicc card didn't show up again.. I don't know how this checkbox got unchecked causing me to lose 4G, but it also didn't help that the uicc chip was X'd out. All this because of a checkbox checking out before I checked in, damn it.

Anyways, I'm going back to root and renaming. I'll avoid anything suspicious, but anyone kind enough to post a list of safe stuff removed would be nice :) Instead of typing like I did, you can quickly post screenshots of your phone by using The built in screenshot: press the power button and the home button at the same time.

Thanks for replying guys

Battery saver apps do that crap all the time. That's why I'd rather do it myself then use something that enables or disabled data whenever it wants.
