Rooted w/ SuperOneClick....

Ok broke down and finally rooted with SuperOneClick, great, but now I have no idea what to do from here...

I want to get rid of the some of the Sprint apps (NFL, Nascar...)

I want to overclock,I don't mind the stock rom, I just want this phone to be faster.

Also willing to take any other recommendations from fellow rooters.

Also, what is the purpose of the Super User app?

Thanks and have a Happy Holiday!

SU allows you access to your phone since it is rooted, also forces you to accept apps using your phone with your permission only. I would download Rom Manager from the Market and then once done, open the app, allow it SU permission, takes a little time to open up so be patient, once open, then I would flash a recovery image, once done the first thing I would do is make a Nandroid back up of you present Rom, once done, then you can either start uninstalling the bloatware you do not want, or flash a sense ROM without the bloatware, or simply flash a vanilla Rom and customize it exactly as you wish. ;)

How exactly do I delete bloatware?

Is there a visual step by step for doing the things you've said?

Also is there a Overclocking app that will work with the Hero?

Yes you can download SetCPU from the Market, as for Bloatware removal i will digress on that, because if you uninstall the wrong apps then you may have issues with your phone, so I would strongly suggest you do a lot of reading and make sure the apps you want to remove are safe to do so. Again i would simply flash a sense ROM with all the bloatware already removed IMO

I have heard with Titanium Backup you can "freeze" an app instead of removing it. This would allow you to see if there are any dire effects if you were to remove it, but without actually removing it.

I have not tested this out though. If you want to try it and report back, that would be appreciated.

Not sure but I believe that is with the paid version only

Edited: Yep for donate version only, just tested it

You will NOT be able to overclock the stock 2.1 kernel. You will have to flash a rom that allows overclocking;)
