Root Rooted Wifi Tethering.

I'm currently getting this error message.


"Tethering started with errors."

So I view the log and this is what the log says.

"Loading WiFi driver... failed

Activating WiFi interface... failed

Setting ad-hoc mode... failed

Setting essid... failed

Setting channel... failed

Enabling NAT rules... done

Enabling IP forwarding... done

Tethering now running... done"

Please help Today is the first day i've rooted my phone so I'm a little confused why I might be getting these messages. I'm a very tech savvy person and the last 6 hours have been spent on google with no help whatsoever. I've "hacked, jailbroken, And Homebrewed" Damn near every piece of technology there is. But I am stuck with no WiFi tether currently. :*(
 
I should also mention I just went to WiFi in my settings and it is saying error when I attempt to put a check mark on it AKA to turn it on.
 
If you have the "Slim" version of shabbymod on it that would be why. I believe its only 0.9 that has the problem with the slim. My wifi tether worked great on my rooted stock prevail.

If it is stock, I would suggest backing up everything and try either a restore to factory or put shabbymod on it.
 
You might try uninstalling and reinstalling it from back up or redowning the app. I had to redownload the app that was giving me errors. Are you might try Wireless Tether.

ya thats the one, mine is 3.1beta though
it allows infrastructure mode which is compatible with all devices.
 
The 3.1 infrastructure mode one was the only one I think that I got to work. There was a 3.2 but I had problems with it. Don't use it very much, but it is a good option to have.

There is a thread on here somewhere telling you how to set it up for the Prevail. I think it might still have some quirks.
