Root Rooting .340 w/o SD Card

My friend has a Droid X that has been dropped in water. Everything works except the SD Card. His SD Card works in my Droid X but my SD Card will not work in his Droid X. Obviously, there is a problem with the slot on his Droid X.

I tried rooting using the one click method (doroot.bat) and it can copy over the files OK, but the exploit fails everytime. I tried pushing z4 root app through adb to his phone in /tmp and /data/local/tmp but I can't get it to execute. Permissions are always denied. I couldn't copy the apk directly to /data/app like I wanted to. Anybody got an idea on how I can gain root on his phone?

NK,

I have no idea. I don't believe root is possible without an sd. I may be wrong. I hope your friend has insurance????

Did you try a different web browser?

To tell the true, I don't think I could use an android phone without the sd card.

How long since it got wet? (probably should have left it there and filed homeowners or other insurance.)
