Root Rooting after 1.1.0 update?

Same here. No issues, but there is a learning curve plus trial and error with various apps to see what works. The screen has occassional gotten less responsive to touch usually after adding new apps or widgets. After a reboot, it seemed just fine. Softkeys is a must for the menu and back functions. I do not use ADB (at least knowingly; I am not sure what it is). I wish there was a more precise pointer besides my stubby finger though. It is annoying to edit and not being able to quickly move the cursor to the right place.

All the Nook/BN functions continue to work fine as far as I have found. That was most important to me because my priority was the Nook reader.

This was my first root of the nook and it was painless. Much easier than when I rooted my old G1 ages ago!

It really and truly took me less than 20 minutes from looking at the instructions to having a rooted Nook... and I'm a total noob at rooting the nook.

Only issue I truly have is when I download an app off the market and install it, the icon wouldn't show up in the nook extras without a reboot. However, now that I'm using Zeam I don't have any trouble finding my apps.

Now I'm just waiting to see what happens with honeycomb.

What about content already on the nook. For example, my wife has purchased several books. Being as she is already on the newest version, I should have to wipe (right?). If for some reason I do have to wipe, how do the books (and or purchased content) get back on the nook?

It's linked to the account so it should show up after you complete the registration. Just like the Android Market is linked to your gmail account, it should restore it.

Ok..So I ran the root....and I am automatically connected to wifi...however, the bottom button won't work so I can't get to extras...Only the soft key works and pressing it and the menu option does nothing..

Any advice?

nvm the above...I just unplugged nook from computer and got it working. Now..I have to figure out why apps that I installed from market aren't showing up in extras.

Will probably just install a different launcher.

Just power off completely and power up again and your apps show up in extras. If you download a launcher such as Zeam, your apps show up immediately.

Hi there. I am a new nook color owner as of today and decided to give rooting a try. I am a noob to this as well. Im not even sure how to tell if the file installed from sd card. I put it in with power off, plugged into usb, and waited for it to boot. after it boots I put in password to unlock and then nothing seems to happen after that. It also keeps going into sleep mode so I am not sure that is allowing it to boot the file. can anyone help me out ?

I have since put the sd card back in card reader on comp and noticed there are now folders on it that werent there after the orignial image was put on there.... still dont see a difference on the nook...I have redone all the steps but still feel like im missing something

I just bought a NC today that is version 1.0.1 should i just root that, or should i update to 1.1.1 or what ever the most current version is before i root it? or does it matter?

I think I killed my nook ...
I turned on the computer, but nothing appears on the screen ...
Only the cable light stays on!
How do I go back?
