Root Rooting and ICS

Moved to Root section:)

And not yet, give the devs just a little time with ICS and I'm sure you will see it:)

I'm looking forward to having ICS on my rezound and will probably root to get it. However, when HTC sends it to us with sense 4.0, I'd like to be able to revert back. Will that be possible? Thanks.

if you were to root in order to get ICS (basically flashing a rom) then i doubt that you would even get an update from HTC. Meaning you would have to be stock or close to it in order for you to get the Over the Air update. Once you mod/edit system files on the phone it will not pick up the OTA update. At least that is my experience with past rooted devices.

This is true but all they would need to do is revert back to stock and then they'll receive updates as normal. One of the first things that comes out when s-off is achieved is the stock build. I would suggest that anyone who would possibly want to receive updates make sure they know how to get back to stock.

Ah, here we go. I remember when I bought my Eris, and I couldn't WAIT for 2.1 to come out. Now I have my Rezound, with 2.3, and we can't WAIT for 4.0 to come out.

I'm just gonna wait here for it to come OTA, like I did with my Eris. When my warranty is up, THEN I'll bother rooting.

Oh, but I would LOVE to get rid of every Verizon app they put in there... so there's THAT.

Rule #1 of Root Club.

1. Make a backup of your stock build as soon as your root.
