Root Rooting build number .30????

Hi bought my tab monday and rooted it while on .17. Today i was forced to update to .30. Now i thought i saved my root with rootkeeper but when iwent to restore my root i didnt have the option to like ive seen in tutorials. So my question is can I downgrade to .17 from .30 root again? Or even better is there is rot method for all firmware yet?

Is it safe to assume you want to downgrade due to not wanting to unlock your bootloader?

I would just flash a custom ROM that was rooted. Problem solved plus you get to choose a cool ROM.
