Root Rooting Evo 4G 2.3.5 with software version 4.67.651.3?

ok try this..... close the command window and then while holding shift right click on the android folder and then run the command again.

spoke too soon. this is what I get now

Where exactly are you running these commands from? The adb file should be in the android folder...along with everything else...I dont know where your performance tools? Folder came from. Put all files into one folder and run the command prompt from there.

Ok bigbear, I moved the adb files reloaded to new folder in c:\adb and ran adb shell WORKED!!! :D thanks!!

I would flash a custom ROM like mikg 3.1 which has everything that your are looking for in a ROM.
 
+1^3000000000 to amon ra 2.3 only recovery that i will ever recommend. no matter how cool the new touch recoveries are i will stick with the old school recovery that never fails.
 
I just became aware of using unrevoked to root your phone to delete applications that were preinstalled and get new rom's on the phone. But i dont have a clue were to began. I dont want to loose my warranty so i dont want to do the "Unlock Bootloader" I have the 2.3.5 android vesion & the 4.67.651.3 build. Is there anyway that i can get this done without doing the bootloader thing? If so can someone please let me know exactly how. I have looked at youtube videos and all andn cant find what can help me. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Welcome to the forums!!!

Since you have accepted the new OTA update unrevoked will not work for you.

You have to either use the HTC dev method or the tacoroot method to get root access. If you downgrade your bootloader (tacoroot or captn throwbacks method) sprint will never know you rooted the device.

Hey i just found this forum and would like to know a couple things do i need to uninstall htc sync before atempting this root? Does debugging have to be on or off? Should my phone be on charge or disk drive mode? Pleeese help
