Root Rooting GB

I'm sure this has been asked a million times but do I have to SBF back to Froyo or can I just flash the rooted version over the GB OTA?

i believe you need to sbf back to froyo in order to obtain rooted gb, wont take long at all

Correct, flash back to 2.3.340 first, then install the 2 part tbh update.

Alright I'm a little confused as to what file installs the rooted GB. Is it the patched update.zip listed in the Official DX Gingerbread Release Thread?
