Root rooting help

ok so im using the rooting for dummies and while trying to run unrevoked i get this error message: error failed to root. is your firmware to new?

wth do i do?

that im not sure of. but i did the bootloader to check what i was getting and i have the s-off and so far it looks like it took despite the error message

ok so i checked it out and apparently even though i had gotten that message my phone is rooted. i checked by downloading terminal emulator. typed su as i saw in a post and my $ turned to a # sign. so now my ? is where do i pick up at in the rooting for dummies? lol me + phones = complete dumb***

Yes. You will want to perform a Nandroid backup before you do anything else. After that, you can begin customizing your phone w/ a new ROM. Might I suggest the MikZ ROM...I love it!

ty for the help guys. im new at this and im sure your tired of getting the questions. i will def look at the mikz rom. i was also looking at koni's elite series 2. do you use a kernel or suggest one with good battery life

congrats!! yes definitely follow step 3 and make a nandroid backup. any other questions you have please feel free to ask. one thing though never use rom manager. it has been known to be buggy. plus it is a good practice to do everything manually that we you will know your way around your recovery program.

i am so happy i found this forum and very grateful for the help. im actually doing the backup now and chose to do it manually before i read this lol. i want to learn as much as i can about this and i would of never pulled this off without the help of the forums and users. thank you again
