Root Rooting my Evo

Hello,

I want to root my Virgin Mobile HTC Evo 3D 4G so I can delete Facebook and Google + because they run down the battery more than any app I have and I dont even use them. Ive seen threads for people rooting to gingerbread 2.3 and such but I believe I have 4.0 Why do people like to root to an older android system? Do they have the same apps or are they not capable? If someone could give me a link to rooting an ICS 4.0 Id appreciate it.

I've moved your thread into the proper forum which is Evo V 4G :)

I believe you got confused because of the Evo 4G's root method.
 
If you go into apps in the setting menu, then go to all apps you can disable facebook and google+ so they dont run in the background
 
When the phone was originally released on Sprint it had 2.3 Ginger Bread which is why you saw rooting information for the earlier os, you are correct that our version comes stock with 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich.
