Root Rooting problems

I've rooted my phone before using z4root and I do remember it didn't take hat long. But once I upgraded to official froyo, when I go to 4shared for z4root it downloads by it either takes entirely too long to root (15+minutes ) or it makes it seems like it rooted my phone cuz it restarts. But can anyone give me a link or something so I can ACTUALLY. root my phone since I upgraded to the real 2.2

z4root wont work. You need to get Gingerbreak v1.1 or v1.2. Its desgined for Gingerbread, but will work with devices 2.2.X and up. The hard part is actually finding a way to change the /cust into a RW folder. Its stuck on RO, and well, thats where all the bloatware is located.

You must have the latest version of root explorer to get rid of the bloatware crap. Then open root explorer click on mount r/w then go to cust>metropcs>us>app then you must click on MOUNT R/W then delete what crap you don't want. DO AT YOUR OWN RISK! This worked for me!

worked like a charm, i used titanium backup to remove bloat, but i couldnt delete everything for some reason, but it still froze bloat
