Root Rooting Question

I'm trying to root my moms boost marquee and apparently she updated it to zv4... I've been reading around in multiple threads for hours now and I just need answers to two simple questions... zv4 kills all methods currently available of rooting? (yes/no) and there is no way of rolling back to zv3 without already having cwm installed? (Yes/no)

Hmm...sounds like a complicated process. I think i'll just wait for a month or so to see since I just bought boost mobile lg marquee just recently. Has OTA update on it but never been rooted or flashed in anyway. Anyways I still have a 30 day return policy for Best Buy.

Well I do not think there will be a fix for this anytime soon. Only way to root at this point is to roll back with kdz then manually update. So pretty much if you want to be able to root and flash ROM's that is the only option as of right now.

I thought there was only a working KDZ for Sprint's version of the Marquee....

Would a roll back work if one flashes the sprint KDZ, but then installs Bloodawn's rooted ZV4 update? It's not as straight forward, but in theory it would work! :D

Oh I don't mind attempting that but the FEAR of BRICKING my phone comes into play and the thought of downloading 10 different things and installing another 10 different software's on my computer gets to me. I just need something that is not just noob friendly but down right dumb noob friendly. Like download 1 file and just run it and VOILA it is rooted :D Again I will continue to wait.

someone test this:

Test root

Cannect phone to USB, make sure debugging is enabled in Applications > Development, download to PC, unzip, run the run.bat.

I tried it three times with no luck... output is below:

I just got it to work check here on my post here at this thread http://androidforums.com/marquee-al...uide-flash-your-phone-back-stock-kdz-cab.html

I am glad this worked for you...

Unfortunately there are some folks that are on ZV4 that are just unwilling to try this method. I am on my third Marquee, and I can not afford to brick this one. I am on Boost, and it has not worked for me in the past. Still waiting for the exploit. I am sure others who are willing to try this method will appreciate your instructions.
