I think he means Honeycomb. Android 3.x.x. I dont know of any phones that even come with that preinstalled. I thought it was a tablet exclusive OS. I could be wrong.

Thats why some newer Gingerbread phones are recieving Ice Cream Sandwich(this summer hopefully) and not Honeycomb
You can just click here for easy root and tweak for Prevail

Is that a link for mobile Odin? I am running 2.3.6 fa19 and don't have access to a computer that I can download all the necessary files to root. I was told my only option was using windows. I am hoping someone else out there has better/different information.

No, there is not ANY way to root through the phone without cwm. There is no way to install cwm without a Odin. Mobile Odin DOES NOT work with the prevail. There is no Odin for us that works without a computer.

You had been told already that a computer is the only way, all the root guides specify that a computer is necessary. I found it rude that you think one of the amazing people here would misslead you, and that you found the need to hijack one of the theme threads, even after being told the answer. Hence my response. 
I wouldn't bother with anything that isn't supported by our phones cause you might hard brick your device (personal experience)
