Root Rooting SM-P600: No Custom ROM?

PeteCress

I want to root my Samsung 10.1" SM-P600 (Android 4.3) tablet, but will not be doing anything with custom ROMs.

I just want root to be able to set User Agent under Chrome, uninstall some bloatware via AppMaster, and a few other things.

Can anybody recommend the best route to root?

In the absence of any knowledge, I'm looking at the method documented in the IB Times article at Root Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) SM-P600/SM-P601 on Android 4.3 [How to], which uses something called autorootp600mj4.tar.md5 applied via Odin.

That guide looks fine mate. ChainFire is a great dev.
The only thing is it doesnt seem to give you a custom recovery (i could be wrong)
Even though you arent going to flash roms, a custom recovery is handy because you can make a complete nandroid back up in case anything goes wrong

All done. Thanks!

Glad you were able to get sorted :)

I'm moving this thread into the All Things Root subforum for the Galaxy Note 10.1" (2014) so that your journey may be able to assist others
