also, i think my cwm works now. so you may want to get it and make a backup first anyhow. maybe even run a test for me, backup, delete an app, restore, see if it comes back
 
by far the easiest rooting that i have EVER done! bravo!

I have uninstalled Play music and Google photos but the shortcuts are still there. how can i remove the shortcuts from app menu?
 
I've never in my life joined a forum to say thank you but god damn .... I don't know squat about rooting or whatever but I get amazing speeds on my 4G Warp with boost and really wanted to hotspot the connection (hey it's unlimited :) )

After reading this thread last night I rooted my phone in literally a few seconds and installed the wifi app recommended on the other thread and it worked like a charm. I get 0.7mbs on this crappy apartment Internet , and when I did the speed test on my ipad and hit 8.84dwn and 2.94up .

Wow , and in LA my 4G Warp hit 20mbps dwn and 14up ...

Since all I did was the farmaroot , and got the wifi teather working .... Is there anything else I should do ? I don't know about Roms and all that I just followed this thread and rooted.

Thanks to all you guys for making this so fast and easy.

Get a root file browser such as es file explorer, go into /system/app and delete apk and matching odex files for the apps you want to remove. Be careful not to delete things you need.

I get message "xxxx.apk cannot be deleted". I tried the usual suspects (boostzone, chrome, books, movies, etc) but won't work. Tried File Explorer and File Manager and made sure root explorer was on. Same results for both apps...cannot delete.

Update: Got it! Had to mount /system as writable.

Which folder are downloaded apps stored in???
I can't seem to find them.

Photos icon did that for me too but eventually disappeared. I think it was after uninstalling Google+ and Hangouts and then rebooting. Not 100% sure though because I was removing apps in small batches.

I'm using Miu File Explorer. It worked well on my old Warp as a root file explorer. But I'm thinking maybe b/c it's not installed as a System App?? And permissions may not be correct as well??
 
Removing system apps? Titanium backup has never failed me, even messed up a couple good phones lmao

Yes I checked the options and even hidden files. I'm certain I'm at the highest level of the root directory that I can go. I'm able to see all of the system installed apps. Just can't find the downloaded apps for some reason....
