Root Rooting With Z4root for 2.2.1?

Hi, I found a few videos (i cant remember the link) that said that z4root would root any android device running 2.2.1, so I downloaded and installed it. I was wondering what would happen if I tried to run it on my 2.2.1? And my antivirus keeps telling me its infected. Should I delete it? Will running it root my phone or brick it?

Far as I know z4root will not root 2.2.1 as to the one you have where did you get it. If it is the legit z4root it will not harm your phone it just will not work.

There is a bootleg version of Z4ROOT from China that is a virus. Make sure you download only from the xda-developers website.
